Whitney Houston ‘I Look To You’ Album Cover Revealed (PHOTOS)

Whitney Houston is poised to release her comeback album I Look To You. In order to generate some excitement regarding the project, Clive Davis threw an invitation only listening party for his London friends and associates last night.

The VIP crowd gave the diva a standing ovation in appreciation of her latest body of work. The cover art was revealed today and the album is slated to hit stores on September 1, 2009.

Usher fans were disappointed last night after record mogul Clive Davis announced that the singer would not be performing at his Pre-Grammy party as expected, due to a family emergency.

The R&B singer is married to Tamika Foster and they have two children. The rumor mill was working overtime with talk that Tamika had passed away after having some plastic surgery procedure that went terribly wrong. Although friends are denying the death, Access Hollywood is saying there were indeed some complications for Foster after having cosmetic surgery in Brazil.

Details remain sketchy but Clive did tell his guests last night that he had received phone calls from Usher and his mother, who both reported that they were dealing with a very serious illness in the family.

Leona Lewis Films New Video (Photos)

Leona Lewis, up and coming singer and Clive Davis protegee, was back in the UK to film videos for her songs Better in Time and Footprints in the Sand. Lewis performed last week at Davis’ pre-Grammys party where she got rave reviews from veteran Whitney Houston, who called the rising star a ‘baby me’ and said “she looks so incredible.”

Lewis was an office receptionist before winning on the British TV series The X Factor in December 2006. Her debut album was released in November 2007. The stunning 22 year old did a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar UK in October 2007, which was filmed in Los Angeles.

Lewis is under contract with Clive Davis worth a reported $9.7 million.

After a very public clash over the summer, Kelly Clarkson and Clive Davis appear to be back on good terms – at least if the photo at the bottom of this page is any evidence.

The BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group) chairman visited the American Idol champ and Grammy winner backstage at the sold-out opening night of her tour at New York’s Beacon Theater Sunday – according to People Magazine. The road trip marked Clarkson’s return to the stage after a bumpy summer that included the cancellation of her first tour, and her war of words with Davis. She later extended an olive branch to the music mogul in July, saying, “I’m well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time.”

It is starting to look like Clarkson has squandered a once in a life time opportunity to make it in the music business. She certainly has name recognition in the industry but she may turn out to be a flash in the pan if she doesn’t start taking the advice of seasoned veterans like Clive Davis.

The picture of Kelly Clarkson, first American Idol winner and Clive Davis posing for photographers has been relegated to the bottom of this page because it is extremely unflattering. Kelly has a lot to learn about image and star presence. Hopefully Clive can get Clarkson’s attention this time around and mold her into the star that he first envisioned she could become. She owes him that much.

Clarkson’s tour, meanwhile, will continue through 25 cities, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston and Nashville.
