Frances Bean Cobain is Seventeen (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Frances Bean Cobain celebrated her seventeenth birthday on August 18, 2009. She is the daughter of Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain, lead singer and guitarist of Nirvana.

The teenager was photographed earlier today shopping at the vintage boutique Zachary’s Smile in the East Village of New York City.

Courtney Love Plans Solo Album, Hole Bandmates Puzzled

After Courtney Love departed from the band Hole, she signed a contract in 2002 giving up all rights to the groups name. So the news that Courtney was planning to release a solo album under the name came as a shock to ex-bandmate Melissa Auf der Maur.

Melissa isn’t the only one who is shocked by the news. Eric Erlandson, who co-founded the band, is also bewildered by Love’s news. The contract that Courtney signed stated that unless Erlandson was involved, she would not be able to use the name for any future ventures.

Erlandson had this to say to Spin magazine:

We have a contract. She signed a contract with me when we decided to break up the band, which was like 2002 or something, so I really don’t have a comment on it except that I know my part in that band. The way I look at it, there is no Hole without me. To put it blunt. Just on a business level.

Somebody told me (about Love’s plans) and it just sounded like something…it just sounded like the usual. I love her a lot and I wish her the best, and I’m open to discussions regarding the real Hole, and if she has a solo album together, I think that’s great. I think she should finish it and put it out and do that.

Seems typical to us, Courtney is definitely a pot stirrer.

She waltzes into and out of the media spotlight with her crazy ways and bizarre behavior. The former Hole singer Courtney Love is at it again. This time she and daughter Frances Bean Cobain were said to have trashed their room at The Inn on Irving, an upscale hotel in New York.

Reports say that the two caused more than $5,000 worth of damage to their room. The room was strewn with used female hygiene products and they also apparently flooded the floor.

Sources say, “She caused so much damage in eight hours and wrecked so much havoc. It was actually funny…minus the $5,000 in repairs.”

Maybe somebody stole her identity and it wasn’t even Love. After all, it has happened before. We’re just saying….

Courtney Love Causes Emotional Distress Again

Often portrayed as an outspoken woman who, more often then not, doesn’t know when to quit, Courtney Love is at it again. A recent lawsuit filed by designer Dawn Simorangkir claims that Love is trying to ruin her business, destroy her reputation and invade her privacy.

Taking the matter to her blog, Love has written some pretty hateful things about Dawn and the designer has had enough. Court papers claim that Love has been spreading lies and that Courtney called her “an a**wipe nasty lying hosebag thief” and that was just the start. Love is also alleged to have said that Simorangkir sells cocaine, is addicted to drugs, is a prostitute and a thief.

Misery loves company and Love falls squarely into that category. She has made her own claims that her late husband Kurt Cobain’s ashes were stolen from her, along with his Social Security number. Love would have you believe that she has been wronged at every turn.

Kurt Cobain Ashes Stolen From Courtney Love

The ashes of Kurt Cobain, legendary deceased front man for the band Nirvana, have reportedly been stolen from his widow Courtney Love’s home in Los Angeles.

This is not the first report of theft of Kurt’s belongings from Love. Recently Love filled out a complaint that somebody had stolen Cobain’s social security number and embezzled a lot of money from the late singers estate and now this. Courtney said:

I can’t believe anyone would take Kurt’s ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I’m suicidal. If I don’t get them back I don’t know what I’ll do.”

She has stated in the past that she would hide the ashes inside of a pink teddy bear shaped bag along with some of his hair.

I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again.”

Sounds like Love needs some security around the homestead, or needs to replace her current keepers. Things have not been going well in her life, including her recent snafu at LAX, when she was barred from flying with her daughter Frances Bean Cobain. Check out the teens recent photo shoot here.

Courtney Love Banned From LA Flight to London

Courtney Love is the latest celebrity to be banned from flying. The singer and her daughter Frances Bean Cobain were headed back to London on Monday after a stay in Los Angeles. The star was slated to attend a charity event organized by the Teenage Cancer Trust when she decided that her need for nicotine outweighed the consequences of breaking the airport no smoking laws.

The smoking violation took place in the first class lounge of Virgin Atlantic at LAX. A spokesperson for the airline confirmed that Love was prevented from boarding her flight and was not allowed to fly out until the next evening. They made a point of saying that she had not been blacklisted from flying the airlines in the future.

Love provided the following comment on the matter:

I had a fag in the first class lounge, like two hits, and they wouldn’t let me on the plane with my daughter. They made some big thing like I’m a f**king terrorist or something. It was embarrassing.”

Sounds like classic Courtney Love. Wonder how her 15 year old daughter reacted to yet another scene by her wayward parent. Being Frances Bean Cobain has it’s challenges.

Recently we did a story about Courtney Love going to the police with accusations of her late husband Kurt Cobain’s identity being stolen. Since that article appeared, more damning evidence has surfaced and it looks like Kurt’s mother and sister are losing their homes because of this.

The estimated amount of money taken from the estate is $200 million. It sounds like Love knows who has taken the money and right now the man and woman remain unidentified until proper paperwork is filed.

A total of 188 credit cards were opened, 62 bank accounts, several very expensive cars were purchased. In addition, many homes were refinanced by the thieves including the home of Cobain’s mother, Wendy Fradenburg Cobain O’Connor. Cobain’s sister Kim has already had her home repossessed by the bank.

Love, who has never refinanced her home, has found out that records show that it has been refinanced 4 times. The matter has been turned over to the FBI in Orange County and Scotland Yard. Hopefully they will be able to recoup some of their losses.

Cobain’s Will left his mother 15% of the estate and the rest went to Love and their daughter Francis Bean. The proceedings have been tied up in probate for 14 years, in an open state that is supposedly why access to Cobain’s social security information could have been the source of the scams. There is also reportedly a forged document that had Love turning over power of attorney to others because she was in an incapacitated state. She claims to have never signed any such agreement.

Something seems a little fishy here so we’ll just have to see how it all turns out. Ignorance of ones own financial situation over a prolonged time frame seems to be the case here – at least in part. Was no one guarding the hen house? Hmmmm.

Deceased rocker Kurt Cobain of Nirvana has had his identity stolen. Thieves had gotten a hold of his Social Security number and have been scoring all kinds of good stuff since 2003. Just to name a few, a $3.2 million mansion, 2 cars and 188 credit cards.

Cobain’s wife, Courtney Love talked to The Sun, of London and told them, “I knew it had been going on since I went cuckcoo – bananas – in 2003.” she said “It was fraud after fraud. But nobody believed me until now. I did a check on my deceased husbands Social Security number and he has a house in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He bought it last year. I would like to know how. He should probably get his a*! back home if that is the case.”

Kurt and Courtney’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain should be very upset. It is said that over $72.5 Million has been stolen from a trust fund set up for her. But I am guessing even if the feds aren’t able to recover the money, Frances should be alright. Kurt’s estate earns a reported $42 million each year, most of which goes right into the trust fund.

This case is currently being investigated by the California police and forensic accountants team. It should be interesting to see if they catch the filthy rich thieves.

Frances Bean Cobain, only child of the late Nirvana front man, Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, is fifteen years old and has had some minor media exposure with a few teen magazine interviews and a photo shoot for ELLE.

Will the teen become more immersed in these areas? Courtney Love says that she is doing everything in her power to keep her daughter out of the spotlight. The former lead singer in the alternative rock band Hole, has had her share of problems with celebrity status. Cobain committed suicide when Frances Bean was just a year old. Love went through years of drug abuse issues that included losing custody of her daughter and receiving multiple court ordered stints in rehab.

Love regained custody of her daughter in early 2006 and they currently live in Los Angeles. She announced in April 2007 that she was organizing a Christie’s Auction to sell some of her late husband Kurt Cobain’s belongings to improve her financial situation. She reportedly had $20 million embezzled from her by her entourage during her years of heavy drug use. The FBI continues to look into those allegations.
