Elton John and Madonna

Stop the presses!  You will be relieved to know that Elton John and Madonna have kissed and made up… well sort of.

Elton and his husband David Furnish sat down for an interview recently with Extra reporter Terri Seymour and the subject of his feud with Madge came up.  The flaming diva singer responded that the fight came to an end last summer in France.

He told Seymour that they made up when he happened to spot Madonna while they were dining at the same restaurant, “She came in, and I sent over a note. She was very gracious. I apologized profusely because what I said should never have appeared in public. She accepted our apology, and then we bought her dinner. That’s over and done with. She was really great about it.”

David added, “We don’t believe in putting negativity out in the world, both of us were embarrassed when all that stuff came out. But you’ve got to put all that behind you and just go forward with the positivity.”

Elton continued, “I have to say, she was fantastic. She was just, ‘Okay, let’s get a move on.’ I was very relieved, because she had every right to say ‘I don’t want to talk…’ I said, ‘Listen — you have an option of not talking to me again and I completely understand it,’ and she said ‘No, no. I accept your apology. Let’s move on.’”

The drama began back in 2002 when Elton bashed Madonna’s song for the 007 film, ‘Die Another Day,’ calling it the worst Bond song ever.  Then in 2004 Elton accused her of lip syncing during her Re-Invention Tour and again before her Super Bowl performance where he wished her lucky by saying, “Make sure you lip-sync good.”

Furnish wasn’t an innocent bystander.  In 2012 at the Golden Globes he said, “I like Madonna’s music, but not her movies. She should stick to what she is good at.”

The kicker came last year when Elton said she looked like a “fairgrounds stripper” and indicated that her “career was over.”  Ouch!

Kudos to Madonna for turning the other cheek after several years of bitter trash talk.  Did she let Elton and his partner off too easy?

Elton John and David Furnish baby

Congratulations to Elton John and husband David Furnish on the birth of their second son, Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John.

The baby was born via surrogate on Friday, Jan. 11 in Los Angeles, weighing in at 8 lbs., 4 oz.  Their first child Zachary Jackson Leven is 2.

Elton and David, who exchanged wedding vows in 2005, released a statement on their new baby:

“Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable. The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way.  It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.”

John previously addressed the impact having two dads can have on a child, “I know when he goes to school there’s going to be an awful lot of pressure, and I know he’s going to have people saying, ‘You don’t have a mummy.’  It’s going to happen. We talked about it before we had him. I want someone to be at his side and back him up. We shall see.”

Elton John‘s publicity team is trying to do damage control after the singer blasted Madonna in an interview with Molly Meldrum on Australia’s Channel 7.

At the mere mention of Madonna’s name, Sir Elton went into a tirade. “She’s such a nightmare. Her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c___,” he said in the interview, adding, “She looks like a f***ing fairground stripper. She’s been so horrible to Gaga.”

Lady Gaga is godmother to John’s son Zachary.

When contacted about John’s comments, a representative claimed the quotes were fabricated. After telling him the interview aired on television, he said the conversation was allegedly “off the record.”

Molly Meldrum, who has been a longtime friend of both Elton John and Madonna, says the interview was not off the record.

“Unless you actually specify it’s off the record, then everything is up for grabs,” he said.

The interview aired Sunday night, and Elton John is said to be shocked that the tirade was broadcast.

Singer Elton John and husband David Furnish have been talking about expanding their family in order to provide son Zachary Furnish-John with a sibling.

John, 65, chatted with The Guardian and spoke about growing up as an only child and the downfalls, “I spent it in my room, listening to music if my parents were arguing.  I think it’s difficult to be an only child, and to be an only child of someone famous.”

Elton said, “I want him to have a sibling so he has someone to be with.”

Hoping to save Zachary, now 17-months-old, from being bullied in the future, the thought is that a brother or sister could smooth over an uncomfortable situations.

“I know when he goes to school there’s going to be an awful lot of pressure, and I know he’s going to have people saying, ‘You don’t have a mommy.  It’s going to happen. We talked about it before we had him. I want someone to be at his side and back him up. We shall see.”

Their child was born via surrogate mother and the proud dad couldn’t help boasting that the toddler kisses the housekeeper and plays football.  Elton stated emphatically, “He’s so straight.”
