Bags By Chilli: Advertise Yourself

Former member of the hits 1990’s girl group TLC, Rozonda Thomas aka Chilli, has ventured out on her own and is now started a designer purse business called Bags By Chilli. The fashionable bags are being touted as the new way to advertise yourself.

Several years back when Chilli gave birth to her son Tron, she received a couple of bags with his photo on them and they became her favorite bags. Wanting to switch up her look and style, she decided the photo purse idea was a business waiting to happen and decided to start Bags By Chilli.

The bags ranges from $140 to $340, a bit spendy but you will not only have a one of a kind bag, but you will always have a conversation starter.

What else can you put on the bag? Options include personal artwork, hobbies, business advertisement, family photos, really anything your heart desires.

Actress Charlize Theron graced the red carpet at the premiere of her latest movie The Burning Plain in Paris, France at the Cinema Pubicus. Charlize looked fabulous from the neck up, but her choice of wardrobe was less than stunning.

At first glance we thought maybe she was wearing a shiny new Hefty trash bag. Seriously, it could pass for a garbage bag. What do you think? Was it a fashion hit or miss?

Mr Blackwell’s Worst Dressed List is History 1922-2008

Richard Blackwell, fashion critic, journalist, television and radio personality died in Los Angeles on Sunday October 19, 2008 of complications from an intestinal infection. He was 86 years old according to his publicist Harlan Boll.

Born Richard Selzer, he came from a family of meager means but as a child was able to land a part in the Dead End Kids and an acting career evolved. He later became a noted clothing designer who eventually put together the annual Top Ten Worst Dressed Women list. He enjoyed recalling that the first year his list came out everyone was mad as hell and that established his list and made him a name.

He was relentless in his damnation of certain stars including Anna Nicole Smith and Barbra Streisand. His last swipe was in 2007 when he called Britney Spears and Paris Hilton “two peas in an overexposed pod, style-free and fashion deprived”.

Blackwell wrote two books: Mr. Blackwell: 30 Years of Fashion Fiascos and an autobiography: From Rags to Bitches.

The Alexander McQueen Spring and Summer 2009 collection was featured during Paris Fashion Week. We’ve got some of the runway photos but one of his most famous creations is a feather wedding dress that was created and worn by Mimi van Wyck.

The partner in an event planning company in NYC, she wore the gown in her April 2007 nuptials. She was sheathed in spiraling layers of silk tulle looking every bit the 19th century heroine in a little bit of role playing. Doesn’t every bride and groom? Maybe not, but this particular pose is worthy of a look.

One of the models shown in this story fainted after coming off the runway because her leather corset was cinched too tightly. She can be seen wearing it with two different dresses. She was apparently revived quickly and continued modeling during the event.

It has always been apparent that Beyonce Knowles must be the favorite child in the Knowles household and not just because she is the big star. We have pictures to prove it!

Whether Beyonce is on the red carpet or walking down the street she always looks on top of her game. Now, as for her 22 year old sister Solange Knowles, who has just released a new album “Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams” it seems as though she is lacking in good judgment in the wardrobe department.

The girls’ mother Tina Knowles is the fashion designer for her brand “House of Dereon.” So this begs the question: Does Tina dislike Solange? Or maybe the young singer has her own fashion sense and wants a completely different style than her extremely successful sister.
