Hilary Duffs Dad Goes to Jail (Photos)

Singer and actress Hilary Duff has found herself on the troubled Hollywood families list after her father was arrested yesterday and sentenced to 10 days in jail.

The arrest was a result of Hilary’s mother dragging her ex to court to try and get $25,000 to throw a 21st birthday party for Hilary. He had apparently been tapped two years earlier to shell out money to fund a bash for sister Haylie.

The judges verdict–Bob was ordered to pay $12,500 for the party and spend the next 10 days in jail. Why you might ask? Because it turns out that Bob was selling assets without the approval of the court – and we’re not talking about little items here…we’re talking $367,537 worth of goods.

Now this all seems silly when, in all likelihood, any number of trendy night clubs out there would have been happy to host a party for Hilary.

Somebody please tell me this was a coincidence that Hilary Duff and Aaron Carter were photographed together. Isn’t Hilary dating that cute hockey player Mike Comrie.

This actually makes me giggle -it would be a big step backwards for Hilary Duff and a great media ploy for Carter. Who by the way is said to be seeing Brooke Hogan.

20-year-old Hilary Duff seems to be trying to shed her Disney good girl image by posing in these sexy photos for men’s magazine FHM. Unfortunately guys, these pictures seem pretty tame if you were expecting something a little more risqué.

Maybe Duff could try to do things the Vanessa Hudgens way by leaking nude photos onto the net. It seemed to completely shatter any illusions of Hudgens being typecast forever as the good girl.

Well, it must be love for Hillary Duff and boyfriend Mike Comrie. For Duff’s 20th birthday, Comrie bought her a Mercedes!!! Duff spoke with People magazine and told them all about it:

Hillary Duff’s expectations were low when her hockey player boyfriend, Mike Comrie, called recently to say he’d picked out an early 20th birthday present for her and that “I hope you like them.”

“Okay, it’s shoes or something,” Duff recalled thinking as she went to her sister’s house, where Comrie had said he left the present in the garage. “I opened the garage, and I was just like shocked, just standing there.”

Before her, with a big red bow on top, was a Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV (retail price: more than $100,000).

Duff, whose birthday is next week, told PEOPLE at the Chanel and P.S. Arts Party at Chanel in Beverly Hills on Thursday that she had unwittingly put the idea for a new car in his head. Comrie, who plays for the New York Islanders, didn’t know what to get her: then one day he heard her talking about her transportation needs.

“I was planning on getting a big car and I drive a big car anyway, and I was just like, ‘You know maybe I like the G-Wagen,’ and then I was like, ‘No, maybe I like the [Porsche] Cayenne,’ ” says Duff, whose manager steered her away from the Porsche, reminding her that she was a “terrible driver” and “didn’t need that kind of power.”

“I’ve driven it tons,” Duff said of her birthday present. “When I called him I was like, ‘You’re crazy! It’s perfect!’ “
