Radio shock jock Howard Stern told his listeners on Sirius XM this morning that he will return for a second season on the NBC reality talent show ‘America’s Got Talent.’

The outspoken judge pulled in $15 million last season and has negotiated a new contract that will have him back on the panel when the show airs as a summer series.

Sharon Osbourne has made it clear that she will not be returning to the show and comedian Howie Mandel is apparently still on the fence.

Stern isn’t concerned about who ends up sitting beside him when the cameras roll.  In fact he suggested, “If I was the only judge, I think the show would be terrific.  You don’t need the other judges, but all right, I gotta learn to play with others.”

NBC’s Paul Telegdy issued this statement, “Howard Stern’s towering presence and opinions on last season’s show as a new judge made a dramatic impact and added a sharper edge to the fascinating developments on state.”

“We know that Howard believes in America’s Got Talent — which remains America’s top-rated summer series — and that dedication comes across in a genuine way to our viewers who share his passion about our amazing talent competition.”

Newly-minted America’s Got Talent judge Howard Stern is struggling with his new duties leading to speculation that the shock jock is way out of his element.

Monday night Stern admitted that he made a mistake when he assumed he could handle the new job.  The revelation came after he got too harsh with seven-year-old Philadelphia rapper Mir Money.

Stern was not impressed with the little kid’s act and hit his X buzzer button, causing the boy to sob.  The crowd booed and Howard vowed to do better.  He said, “I’ll fix everything.”

Stern hugged Mir Money, “I’m so sorry… You’re a terrific young man. You are so brave. This job is too rough for me. I don’t really want to do it anymore… I don’t want to make you cry. I’ve met many great rappers and none of them are quite as great as you.”

Host Nick Cannon carried the young boy offstage as Howard told the audience, “I’m not cut out for this, man. I’m not cut out for it. I’m shaking, man. I’m shaking… I can’t do it. Radio is for me. I made a mistake. This is not for me.”

The debacle is likely just the first of many and undoubtedly has NBC execs smiling broadly.  That is precisely why they hired a shock jock.  So far, so good.

E! network stars Joan Rivers and Chelsea Handler are involved in a war of words and Howard Stern has been only to happy to keep the fire fueled.

Joan and daughter Melissa Rivers were recent guests on Howard’s Sirius XM radio show.  The outspoken 78-year-old comedian took the opportunity to vent about Handler.

Rivers dished about CH’s previous relationship with E! President Ted Harbert, “Number one, the girl made it on her back f**king the president, we all know that. Number two, she’s fine, she’s ordinary. She’s not a genius.”

She elaborated, “She’s an ordinary girl that was f**king somebody high up in the industry and they gave her a break and she’s doing okay.”

Not long ago Stern hosted Handler, who came on the show to promote her new NBC sitcom Are You There, Chelsea? — great planning Stern!

Getting right to it, Howard asked the popular comic what she thinks of the older comedian, “Joan Rivers? What the f**k do I care about Joan Rivers? I don’t think about her ever.”

How did this all start?  Joan claims it began at a network event where she tried to say hello to Handler and was given the cold shoulder.

According to Chelsea, “Joan Rivers gets up and she’s like, ‘I’d like to thank Chelsea Handler for giving me a career in comedy (mock laughing), and congratulations on your stage Chelsea because I don’t even have a dressing room.’ And I’m like, ‘f**k off!’”

Joan managed to get in the last word, at least for now, “Who the f**k do you think you are?  Whatever she is, she’s a drunk. I don’t wish her good luck, I don’t wish her bad luck.  I don’t think she’s particularly funny. But don’t you come after me, you wh*re!”

Radio shock jock Howard Stern has signed on to replace Piers Morgan on America’s Got Talent.  His larger-than-life personality will definitely bring a whole new dynamic to the broadcast.

When rumors first surfaced that Stern was at the top of NBC’s list, the Parents Television Council thought he was to “raunchy’ for prime-time.

Stern will hit the road in February for the audition phase of the competition but then it will be back to New York City for the live shows.  NBC and AGT have decided to change their production venue so that Stern is able to continue with his popular Sirius XM radio show.  Now that’s some clout!

Morgan announced last month that he would be leaving the reality talent contest in order to concentrate on his CNN gig.

Will the barb-tongued Stern be a good fit alongside veteran judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne?  Feels like a genius move to us.  Your thoughts?

Radio shock jock Howard Stern appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Thursday night and told show host Jimmy Fallon: “You know I hate doing talk shows.  In fact, this will be my last appearance anywhere ever because I’ve had it.”

The audience gave Stern a collective groan and he turned on them too: “What do you care?”

Clearly in one of his moods, he sniped: “It’s a lot of pressure to come out here.  What, I’ve got to prove myself to you? I mean come on, really.”

Calling Jimmy’s current job “cushy”, he offer the host a bit of advice, “If they tell you they want to give you The Tonight Show, smack them in the head.”

He claims that when Conan O’Brien was on The Tonight Show “nobody cared about the ratings.”  He went on to suggest that all of that has changed: “You go on that show, suddenly they have high expectations.  Suddenly it’s pressure.  What do you need that for?”

We’re guessing Howard really hasn’t sworn off late night television.  He was just doing what he does best…going for a little shock and awe.
