Where is Artie Lange?

If you tuned in this morning to Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show, then you know that Artie Lange did not show up for work yet again this morning.

Stern is sticking with the story that he has not spoken with Lange, but did share the fact that Artie sent Gary a “cryptic text message” saying that he wouldn’t be returning today. For those keeping score, this is week two of his disappearing act.

After reading the text, Howard wasn’t sure if he should share the info with his listeners so he handed it over to Robin. Upon reading the text, Robin’s response was “Oh Wow!”.

Evidently the message said that it wasn’t drugs but depression that was causing his withdrawl symptoms. Robin went on to say that she thought Lange had been given something to prevent that from happening.

Howard addressed listeners who have been calling in to ask about Artie’s status by saying that Lange would return to the studio “eventually”. Though a few clues were dropped today, Stern went on to say that Artie would need to be the one to tell his own story.

Howard Stern on Letterman (VIDEO)

Howard Stern joined David Letterman last night for an interesting, albeit thorny visit. No fan of Jay Leno, Stern shared with Dave and his audience a rather critical analysis of Leno’s parting monologue.

Actually Stern threw knives at many of his enemies, including Don Imus, Dr. Phil and Oprah Winfrey.

Outspoken radio show host Howard Stern and girlfriend Beth Ostrosky tied the knot last night in New York City. The affair was held at Le Cirque and the nuptials were officiated by Mark Consuelos, husband of Kelly Ripa.

The wedding was attended by many big stars, including Joan Rivers, Barbara Walters, Billy Joel and his wife Katie Lee, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Chevy Chase and Howard’s long time co-host Robin Quivers.

Guests were treated to two songs by Billy Joel and word is that Chevy Chase delivered quite the roast to the newlyweds.

The mood was said to be soft and gentle and many tears were shed when the couple read their personally written vows. The bride wore Marchesa and according to guests, looked stunning. One guest even said that she was the “most beautiful bride he had ever seen.”

Beth Ostrosky, gorgeous model and actress, is engaged to radio show host and shock jock Howard Stern and really has her plate full right now with training to run the NYC marathon and the upcoming nuptials.

Beth and Howard got engaged Valentine’s Day 2007 and it looks like they are finally going to walk down the aisle sometime this month. The first ceremony will be in the Hampton’s in front of family and friends – undoubtedly a very lavish event. Evidently one wedding these days just isn’t enough. In October the couple will throw a more “intimate” affair.

UPDATE:

The October 3rd wedding will take place tonight in NYC at the posh Le Cirque restaurant at 7:00 p.m. The guests will number 180 family and friends, including Donald Trump, Joan Rivers, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Kimmel and Barbara Walters.

Kelly Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos, who became an ordained minister just for this occasion, will officiate at the ceremony and oversee the exchanging of wedding vows.

The bride’s gown has been designed by Georgina Chapman.

As far as the marathon goes, Beth will run the 18 mile practice session the day after her wedding so she’ll be ready for the big race in November.

Artie Lange’s Howard Stern Show Meltdown (Audio)

Artie Lange, a fixture on the Howard Stern Show since 2001, walked off the radio show this morning after a physical altercation with his assistant of two years, Teddy.

What started as an argument in the hallway erupted into violence when Stern asked Teddy to come into the studio to resolve the issue.

The argument began over travel accommodations for Artie and Teddy’s scheduled trip to Amsterdam this evening. No word on whether the trip will take place as planned. Things quickly escalated as Lange expressed disdain for his assistant, citing money issues.

Lange became enraged and threw a glass of water across the studio and lunged at Teddy. A scuffle ensued as other staffers in the studio diffused the situation, throwing themselves between the two. Robin was screaming and Howard was calling for control.

Once things settled down, Artie came back into the studio and claimed Teddy would be dead if he had reached him and would now be in jail.

Stern said he could not condone Lange’s actions and Lange said he could not guarantee it wouldn’t happen again and offered his resignation. Just before walking out Lange said “I’m not a good person … I gotta leave … I love you”

Teddy returned to the studio and said he was not going to sue and offered to leave the show. Stern told him that wasn’t the solution.

The Howard Stern Show is not live on Fridays and the crew is on vacation next week, so we likely won’t know the fate of Artie Lange until the show resumes.
