Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal Lease London Home (PHOTOS)

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have leased a three-bedroom Victorian terrace house in the Notting Hill area of London.

The 1996 square foot period house, which has undergone extensive renovations, boasts 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, reception, kitchen/dining room, and private terrace.

The couple is reportedly paying £4,000, or just over $5,900 U.S. dollars per week for the home, which is currently on the market with a listing price of £2,795,000.

The main reception room on the raised ground floor has dark wood floors, gallery white walls, and a number of cream colored sofas and seating areas, with a small terrace at the rear of the room.

The dining room, located on the lower floor, has a glass topped table and eight chairs with white slip covers. It is open to the kitchen, which features a narrow work island, white cabinets and a breakfast area with a round glass table surrounded by a set of four Philippe Starck Victoria Ghost chairs.

There is a small patio off the kitchen, and a narrow hallway off the dining area leads to a bedroom, a second small patio and a guest bathroom.

The private quarters include a full floor master suite which stretches the entire length of the house from front to back and includes a clean lined en suite with wood accents, and a large, frosted arched window and private bathroom. The top floor features a windowless bedroom and en suite that are both ventilated and lit by several skylights.

Jake and Reese reportedly began house hunting in London in October of last year while Gyllenhaal was filming “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” currently in post-production.

OK! Magazine features Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal on the cover of the latest issue with the bold headline stating that they are “Ready to Wed!” The actors met during the 2007 filming of Rendition and are close to announcing an engagement, according to the magazine.

The 32 year old actress divorced Ryan Phillippe in October 2007 after an 8 year union. The couple have a four year old son Deacon and an eight year old daughter Ava.

According to the OK! source:

They’ve been talking marriage for a while. They’ll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together. This is a very serious relationship but Reese is very conservative and traditional. I’m sure she doesn’t want her kids to see her living in sin.”

When contacted by OK!, reps for Witherspoon had no comment. Jake’s people left the door slightly ajar by stating that there are no immediate plans for a wedding. Hmmm. The actor has not previously been married. He is the godfather to Matilda Rose Ledger, daughter of Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger.

Jake Gyllenhaal, 27, is currently working on the movie Nailed with Jessica Biel. The couple and the rest of the film crew walked off the work site in a dispute over money this week. Apparently there aren’t enough funds to pay the cast. Screen Actor’s Guild union officials plan to keep all cast members from the film project until the production company deposits the necessary funds into a union-mandated account.

Veteran actor James Caan quit his planned cameo role in the project after getting into a blowout with the director David O’ Russell. The screen play was co-written by Al Gore’s daughter Kristin. It is thought the the money issues will be resolved by next week and the movie should get back into production soon.

It looks like Abbie Cornish and Ryan Phillippe have come out of the closet and proclaimed their romance to the rest of the world. The couple are caught on camera in what appears to be a loving embrace.

Abbie and Ryan have just finished working on the film Stop Loss. Despite earlier denials, it looks like love has indeed bloomed for them. We have photos of the pair out shopping for a holiday wreath with Phillippe’s daughter Ava in tow.

Perhaps the fact that Ryan’s ex Reese Witherspoon has been seen in public with her new love interest Jake Gyllenhaal, has made the otherwise reserved Phillippe lower his guard. The Hollywood celebrities appear to have thrown caution to the wind and have declared their relationships ready for full media consumption.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal kept their distance and barely made eye contact at the Toronto Film Festival “Rendition” press conference last week.

“This is the harshest split they’ve had,” a source tells Us. “Reese told Jake it’s best they don’t talk at all.”
They remained distant at the afterparty, where Witherspoon kept to herself and Gyllenhaal chatted with his mom and costar Peter Sarsgaard (sister Maggie’s beau). But by 11 p.m., when they hit the fete for George Clooney’s movie Michael Clayton, the frostiness melted: “They seemed like a couple,” an eyewitness tells Us. “Reese was happy and having a good time.”But the next morning, they left Toronto separately. She headed to L.A.; he flew to NYC.

These two have had a rocky relationship from the get-go. It will be interesting to see where this goes.
