John Mayer Performs ‘Who Says’ On Today Show

John Mayer and Matt Lauer bantered a bit, before the seven-time Grammy winner launched into a performance of “Who Says” on the Today Show Thursday morning.

The song is from Mayer’s fourth studio album, “Battle Studies,” which he tells Lauer is “sort of like the last couple of years of my life…deeply investigated and set to music.”

John Mayer Finds Gay Clubs the Most Respectful

The internet is going wild! Is singer John Mayer gay or straight? Oh my, has he switched “teams” as some websites are calling it. These rumors started when he was seen at gay club Toucan’s Tiki Lounge last weekend.

Some bloggers were suggesting that he fled the club after being kissed on the lips by a male party-goer. Didn’t happen that way according to Mayer. John enjoyed his night out tremendously and took to his Twitter page to set the record straight.

“Rumor check: Went to a gay bar in Palm Springs, yes. Had a blast. Danced my face off. Someone there planted a kiss on me? No. I don’t like the story painting gays as unable to control themselves. Found the crowd even more respectful than in a straight club. You know who the flamboyant crowd is? Straight, drunk girls. They’re like a bunch of little Charles Nelson Reilly’s.”

We have to agree with John’s observation about straight drunk girls….they are crazy! This isn’t the first time that Mayer has had to put the kibosh on the kissing men rumors. Back in 2007 celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton started his own rumor, saying that he kissed John at a New Years Eve party. That was vehemently denied by Mayer.

John Mayer’s fourth studio album titled Battle Studies will release on November 17. The album consists of 11 tracks and runs 45 minutes. The first single from the album, Who Says, was released for preview on September 25, 2009 on Mayer’s website. The official release for the single was October 13, 2009.

Mayer, who turned 32 today, describes the new album as one which includes “observations and a little bit of advice on relationships…kind of like a heartbreak handbook”. He talked about his latest project on his Twitter page and shared a Twitpic of the cover artwork, as seen above.

John Mayer Mugshot: TMZ Vs. The Smoking Gun

Here it is…the $25,000 John Mayer mug shot. The big question now is who gets the money?

John Mayer issued a challenge to TMZ’s Harvey Levin via Twitter:

”if Harvey Levin at TMZ can produce my mugshot, I will donate 25k to the *charity of his choice.”

Mayer was arrested in Atlanta on May 26, 2001, for driving on a suspended license. The case was dismissed a month later on June 26.

The Smoking Gun took up the challenge of finding the mug shot, figuring that “while he technically made the offer to TMZ,” the challenge applied to any other site who could dig up the mug shot.

The Smoking Gun beat TMZ to the punch by mere minutes, posting Mayer’s mug shot at 3:03 p.m. TMZ followed moments later, posting the photo at 3:10 p.m. Both sites received the photo from an administrative assistant with the Atlanta Department of Corrections.

So, to whom does Mayer owe the $25,000? The challenge was directly issued to Levin, but TSG posted it first. What do you think? Who should get the money?

*TMZ has said they will donate the money to an animal charity.

John Mayer and pro skateboarder and actor Rob Dyrdek of the hit reality show Fantasy Factory, were out on the town with their mother’s last night. Mayer and his mother Margaret, an English teacher from Bridgeport, Connecticut were joined by Drydek and his mom Patty at My House in Hollywood.

As they were exiting the L.A. night club, Margaret Mayer fell down and was helped back to her feet by her musician son. It appears that she was none the worse for wear after losing her footing while the paparazzi were swarming.

The men were dressed in matching dark blue velvet blazers that featured their initials on the lapel – making them looks like English frat brothers. Fashion hit or miss….you decide.

Scheana Marie Jancan is John Mayer’s Hot New Girlfriend (Photos)

Aspiring model and cocktail waitress Scheana Marie Jancan is John Mayer’s new fling according to Star magazine. He and actress Jennifer Aniston called it quits after a second attempt at romance earlier this year. We can’t help but notice that the attractive 24 year old is NOT a carbon copy of his last lady love.

The new couple met at the Grand Havana Room, a Beverly Hills lounge where Jancan was serving up drinks. The two hit it off and exchanged cellphone numbers. They are reportedly spending time together at his rented Calabasas home, where he has been holed up while working on his next album Battle Studies.

Jancan graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 2006 with a degree in broadcast journalism. She appears to be seriously working on a career and has obtained a trademark for the name Miss Scheana Marie, and was recently named runner-up in a Hawaiian Tropic pageant. You can catch her on an upcoming episode of the Jonas Brothers‘ new television show Jonas on the Disney channel. She will appear on May 16 as Maria the pizza delivery girl.

Scheana Jancan was only 19 years old when she was first besieged by media attention. In April 2004 she and four other prospective Hooters employees sued the national restaurant chain after they discovered that they were being filmed after being instructed to don uniforms as part of their job interview.

Jancan went public with the sordid details and eventually 40 other women joined the class action suit, though police indicate that they have video evidence that 82 women were filmed in various states of undress. See the details here.

Jennifer Aniston was photographed yesterday in Manhattan. Could this mean that she plans to see her ‘off again’ boyfriend John Mayer for a reconciliation?

The couple split after she returned from a European publicity tour for Marley & Me. She visited France, Italy, Germany and the UK – and appeared on a popular Dusseldorf television show, where she ate dog food.

Note that in the top photo, Jen’s assistant is carrying a coat. A second round of pics were taken a few hours after the first set. Aniston has put on the aforementioned coat and gets into a waiting vehicle, sporting an over-sized hood pulled over her face. Disguise? Wow Jen – you’ve really outdone yourself.

Word in the celebrity world is that the breakup occurred when Aniston returned to L.A. after her European tour to promote Marley & Me. Check out Jen eating dog food on German television.

People magazine indicates that prior to heading to Paris, Rome, London and Dusseldorf with her co-star Owen Wilson and his lady love Kate Hudson, Jen was spending more time with pals Courteney Cox Arquette and yoga instructor Mandy Ingber and less with Mayer.

The couple’s last breakup was in August 2008. At that time, Mayer said, “I ended a relationship to be alone because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right.”

Jennifer Aniston didn’t waste any time in getting back to work after appearing at the Academy Awards at the Kodak Theater in L.A. on Sunday evening. She has since jetted off to Paris where she is continuing to do promotional work for her hit movie Marley & Me.

Owen Wilson and Aniston appeared at a photo call at the Bristol Hotel in Paris on Thursday. No word on whether John Mayer accompanied his actress girlfriend to the most romantic city on the planet.
