Kat Von D and boyfriend

Former ‘LA Ink’ reality star Kat Von D got her first tattoo and age 14 and quit school at the age of 16 to become a tattoo artist.

She snagged the TLC series in 2007, chronicling the work at her tattoo shop High Voltage Tattoo in Los Angeles for four seasons.

The 31-year-old ink artist is engaged to Joel Zimmerman aka DJ Deadmau5, after accepting his Twitter proposal in mid-December.

Aside from her reality show success, Kat gained additional notoriety when she started dating West Coast Chopper badboy Jesse James.  She broke off their engagement in 2011 after discovering that he cheated on her with 19 other women.

Tattoo artist Kat Von D is engaged.  The reality show star accepted a marriage proposal that was delivered via Twitter by her boyfriend Deadmau5.

The Canadian music producer, aka Joel Zimmerman, posted the following on his Twitter page:

After his proposal was accepted, the DJ tweeted, “Holy f***ing s–t. I’m engaged and stuff! Thanks for the well wishes and support from the horde and everyone else! Brb while i spend the rest of my evening with my future wife.”

He still owes his fiancee a ring but he did share a photo of what she can expect:

Kat thanked her Twitter followers for their well wishes,  “Mi corazon! Thank you all for the lovely congratulations! Please excuse me while I go squeeze the hell out of my fiance!”

The couple hooked up in September and split for a while last month, at which time Kat tweeted,  “Man, I sure was wrong. But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off. Lesson Learned.  Clarification: Deadmau5 and I are no longer together.”

They have apparently ironed out all of the kinks and it’s full speed ahead for the couple.

She wanted so badly to prove people wrong.  Tattoo artist Kat Von D gave all of her heart to Jesse James and is now coming clean on their “toxic” relationship.

Last night Kat released a lengthy note on her Facebook page titled Thank You, Jesse James. It spoke of what went wrong in their yearlong relationship.

It starts with, “Today I encountered the 19th girl to add to the list of people Jesse cheated on me with during this last year.”

She continued, “I kept going back and forth in my mind as to what the best way would be for me to release and let go of any residual feelings remaining from that toxic relationship.  All of this may sound petty or immature to some, but I assure you this is coming from a place of pure honesty and love.”

“There was a time when I was confident and excited at proving the world wrong, because I believed so deeply in people’s ability to change for the better. Although this was not a primary purpose in the relationship, I did feel like it would be a positive thing for those who judged Jesse solely based on what they read in tabloids, to see that change is always possible — even in the people who seem hopeless.”

“I think it just made me sad today to imagine him still in that dark place — where seeking validation through the attention of women takes precedence over being a good father, a sincere friend, a better coworker, and a happy individual.”

During their relationship Von D was tagged as the woman who broke up Jesse and actress Sandra Bullock‘s marriage.  It now just seems so trivial to her.

“I tried my best to go through all of this without venting, or complaining, or fueling more tabloid mumbo jumbo — but this isn’t about any of that… This is about me making peace with myself, and forgiving myself for making some bad mistakes.”

“Time is something you can never get back, and what we do with this very present moment is the most real thing we have. So if that’s the lesson Jesse forced me to face and learn by all of this, than all I can say is Thank You.”

The on again, off again romance between tattoo artist Kat Von D and Jesse James is off yet again.  We’ve said this before … it sounds like the breakup really is for good this time.

Kat took to her Facebook page late Friday night to share her latest heartbreak news with a clarification statement titled ‘Odds and Ends’, “I think maybe the final episode of LA Ink left things a bit confusing to some.  So in a nutshell here goes:

1. I am not in any way moving to Texas.  I am not opening up another tattoo shop.  And I am not leaving my shop here in Los Angeles, High Voltage Tattoo.

2. I am not in a relationship. (And I apologize for all the “back and forth” if it’s caused any confusion)

3. I am in no way retiring – (what does that even mean anyway???)

4. My tattoo shop is not closing, and is open for business like always! (Same goes for my art gallery, Wonderland -  next door to High Voltage Tattoo.)

5. As hard as it is to sometimes let go of the things you are so accustomed to doing, I am happy to have done LA Ink, but am even more excited about new upcoming ventures – and cant wait to eventually share more about this with you all!”

Hold the presses … there has been a reconciliation between Jesse James and Kat Von D and the engagement is back on.

The bombshell revelation came on the same day that TLC lowered the boom after four successful seasons and cancelled L.A. Ink.

Kat and Jesse hinted at their new status early in the day by posting Twitter pics featuring them engaged in loving embraces.  The couple didn’t make their followers wait too long to understand what was going on.

Jesse spoke with PEOPLE and made it official, “Sometimes you are only given one chance in life.  It was up to me to open my eyes and see it.  That girl is my chance.  I will never stop fighting and striving to hold on to her… showing her how special she is, and how much I love her.”

Regarding the TLC announcement, Kat ‘tweeted’ her version of how the cancellation decision was made,  “I love how me deciding to not continue doing LA Ink, turns into being “cancelled.”  Thanks @TLC.  Regardless of everything I remain grateful.”

Von D told PEOPLE, “In an effort to capitalize on my recent breakup, the network had decided to focus their energy on re-editing events that didn’t happen while filming.  I have no regrets and am very proud of the original footage.  In my opinion, any attempt to compromise the honesty of that would be an insult to my fans and viewers.”

Kat is sure of one thing, “I’m ready to end this chapter and want to focus on other projects now.”  Marriage perhaps?
