Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll were secretly married earlier this month in a private ceremony that was attended by her two children and a few family members and friends.
Rocknroll, who used to be Abel Smith until he legally changed his name, is the nephew of billionaire Virgin Group founder Richard Branson.
The couple met on Branson’s privately owned Necker Island, part of the British Virgin Islands. They have been a couple since the fall of 2011 and got engaged during the summer of 2012. In September they relocated permanently from New York to a home in the UK.
British media is reporting that actor Leonardo DiCaprio gave away the bride, his former ‘Titanic’ co-star, at the private New York ceremony. She reportedly informed her parents of the nuptials after returning to London with her new husband.
This is Kate’s third wedding. She was previously married to Sam Mendes and Jim Threapleton.
