Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley have a good deal to smile about these days. They broke the news last week that they were about to adopt a 10-month-old special needs child from South Korea and now have her with them at home. They have named her Nancy Leigh after Heigl’s mother Nancy and her sister Margaret Leigh and will call her Naleigh.

The Grey’s Anatomy celeb has proudly posted several photos of the adorable child on her Jason Debus Heigl Foundation – Heigl Hounds of Hope fundraiser website. Do check out the site and more precious family pics there.

Katherine Heigl Bashes Grey’s Anatomy, Network Head Responds

Actress Katherine Heigl has always fueled media gossip for reasons that have nothing to do with her acting talents. The actress is known for her big mouth and what some call “diva” behavior.

Her most recent rant was aimed at the exec’s from the hit ABC show Grey’s Anatomy. Katherine spoke out about what she is calling her “cruel and mean” work schedule.

After coming back from hiatus, Heigl said that she had to work a 17 hour day and apparently wanted to let the world know that she is overworked.

Network prez Steve McPherson took a minute to address the matter. “I think it is unfortunate. People are going to behave in the way they chose to behave. There are so many people who work hard on Grey’s and all of our shows, without any notoriety, and those are the ones that I would be concerned about, people who feel like they’re being criticized or looked down upon.”

McPherson isn’t the only one speaking out about Katherine. Her co-star Seth Rogen from the movie Knocked Up had some choice words for Heigl too.

Funny man Seth Rogen and actress Katherine Heigl teamed up for the movie Knocked Up back in 2007. The movie was well received by audiences and critics but Heigl pronounced the project sexist.

With the new movie Funny People hitting theaters today, Seth and producer Judd Apatow hit the Howard Stern radio show to do a little PR, and in the process they talked a bit about Katherine’s negative attitude toward the earlier flick.

Heigl told Vanity Fair that it was hard to wrap her arms around a project that painted women as shrews while making the men lovable.

Rogen wasn’t so nice in his response, “I gotta say it’s not like we’re the only people she said some batsh*t crazy things about. That’s kind of her bag now.”

Apatow told Stern’s listeners that, “Heigl was probably doing six hours of interviews and kissing everyone’s a**, and then got tired and slipped a bit.”

The star of The Ugly Truth, Katherine Heigl seems a bit on the vain side. When a recent conversation rolled around to the question of when she might be having a baby, she was quick to say she was putting pregnancy on hold for now.

“One day, sure, but pregnancy scares me. I know I will be one of those women who looks pregnant all over the body. I’ll get fatter and fatter from my toes up.”

The actress has been married to musician Josh Kelley since 2007. The two met on the set of Josh’s music video for Only You.

Heigl’s movie The Ugly Truth opens in theaters July 24 – see trailer below.

Katherine Heigl: Grey’s Anatomy Cliff Hanger…Will She Stay?

Katherine Heigl was very vocal about her displeasure with Grey’s Anatomy last year and it looked as if she and the hit television medical drama would be parting company. That may still be the case, but suddenly the 30 year-old actress is backpedaling on her decision to do away with the daily grind of filming television in favor of making movies.

Heigl made waves in June 2008 when she would not allow her name to be placed on the Emmy ballot. She said, “I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy.” Heigl, as Izzie Stevens, took home the Emmy in 2007 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

We heard in February 2009 that both Heigl and T.R. Knight were leaving the show. This tidbit was dropped by James Pickins Jr., who plays Dr. Richard Webber on the show.

Heigl, who married Josh Kelley in December 2007, claims not to know if her character will be written out at the end of the season but is holding out hope that they will keep her on board. This whole thing is beginning to sound like a ratings stunt. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Heigl did give a small clue about Grey’s recent filming of their milestone 100th episode, which will air on May 7, 2009. According to the actress, it will be Meredith and Derek’s wedding day.

T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl are leaving Grey’s Anatomy according to James Pickens Jr., who plays Dr. Richard Webber (the Chief) on the show.

Pickens was quoted as telling Us Weekly “Yes, she is,” when asked if Heigl was leaving the show. “Wherever Katherine goes, I wish her nothing but the best,” he said.

Pickens also said Knight is “going too.”

“He just wanted to pursue other career paths,” he continued.

Heigl, 30, and Knight, 35, have been vocal in expressing their displeasure with the show that made them famous. Both have been regular cast members since the show began in 2005.

ABC has declined to comment at this time.

After recent bad press surrounding her Emmy nomination withdrawal, Katherine Heigl, along with hubby Josh Kelley, retreated south to Cancun for a few days.

The couple resurfaced in Los Angeles for Kelley’s 10:00 p.m. concert at Hotel Cafe Friday night, and must have headed straight home in time for Josh to post on his Myspace blog at 1:15 a.m.

Katherine Heigl Not on Emmy Ballot, Blames Grey’s Writers

Katherine Heigl has removed her name from Emmy consideration for her role on the ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy. Heigl won an Emmy in Season Three, at a time when they were pulling in 18.7 million viewers each week. This season’s numbers plummeted to 14.4 million and the actress has decided not to have her name appear on the ballot.

The actress is clearly unhappy with her reduced story line in the weekly scripts that have been written for Season 4. Logic would suggest that last years Emmy winner would get a juiced up script to match her proven acting chops. Heigl’s role this year was considerably diminished and she has decided not to hold back in making a statement that is bound to cause the upper echelon at ABC to see red.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, she said:

I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention. In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.

Heigl is no stranger to rocking the boat. She got into a tight spot during a Vanity Fair interview last summer when she mentioned that the very successful movie Knocked Up, in which she had a prominent role, was “a little sexist”. After the article hit newsstands, she sent VF a written statement clarifying her earlier remarks. In it she said:

It’s important to me to take a minute and clarify the quote about Knocked Up in Vanity Fair. I was responding to previous reviews about the movie the interviewer brought to my attention. My motive was to encourage other women like myself to not take that element of the movie too seriously and to remember that it’s a broad comedy.

Heigl obviously speaks her mind. It should be interesting to see if there is a Grey’s Anatomy Season 5 in her future or if she’ll move on or be encouraged to move on to greener pastures.

Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley are still in newlywed mode if this picture is any indication. The pair were in Arizona this weekend for what else – the Super Bowl. They took in a party on Friday night at Taste Ultra Lounge.

Heigl was recently named the world’s most desirable woman to have as a girlfriend or wife by AskMen magazine. The actress was also named to Barbara Walter’s 10 Most Fascinating People of 2007.

This hot pair are looking tan, toned and content. Marriage must agree with the couple who tied the knot about a month ago. Their holiday wedding took place on December 23, 2007 in Park City, Utah. They then jetted off to Cabo San Lucas for a honeymoon.

Katherine Heigl 29, married musician Josh Kelley 27, on Sunday afternoon in Deer Valley, Utah. According to Heigl’s friend, T.R. Knight, the ceremony was incredible and beautiful.

The actress plays Izzie in the hit TV drama Grey’s Anatomy. The 30 minute ceremony was witnessed by 100 family members and friends. Besides Knight, other Grey’s co-stars in attendance were Kate Walsh and Sandra Oh.

Kelley, singer and songwriter, is set to release a new album, Special Company on February 5, 2008. His last album, Just Say the Word, released in June 2006.

A large heat white tent was dramatically lite for the evening festivities. The tent was festooned with large white drapes, silver chairs with white cushions and white carpeted floor. The couple exchanged vows on an altar that was flanked by large brass candleholders.
