Kelly Clarkson Airbrushed Self Magazine Cover (Photo)

Singer Kelly Clarkson has told the world time and time again that she is comfortable in her own skin. Self magazine must not have felt the same way because they have altered her appearance drastically for the September cover of their magazine.

Lucy Danzinger, editor-in-chief of Self magazine addressed the new slim photo of Kelly. “Yes of course we do retouching, did we alter her appearance? Only to make her look her personal best.” Danzinger went on to say this was most likely the truest depiction they have ever put out on newsstands.

Inside the pages of the September issue Kelly addresses her appearance, “When people talk about my weight, I’m like, ‘You seem to have a problem with it; I don’t. I’m fine!’ I’m never trying to lose weight – or gain it. I’m just being.”

Oh, oh…what does that say for Self magazine? You can’t be yourself and look good! If you want an instant overhaul in the looks department–get yourself on the cover of Self!

Kelly Clarkson graces the cover of Blender magazine’s April 2009 issue. The first ever American Idol winner remains grateful for the role that the show played in her career. She says it taught her that she can’t control everything but what she can control should be positive.

Her new album All I Ever Wanted, made it’s debut today, March 10. She’ll perform her hit single My Life Would Suck Without You on Wednesday night’s AI results show.

Kelly Clarkson is poised for the release of her new single My Life Would Suck Without You. The lead single from her upcoming 4th studio album will hit U.S. radio outlets on January 19, 2008.

The album, titled All I Ever Wanted, will hit stores on March 17, 2008 – St. Paddy’s Day.

Kelly Clarkson, American Idol’s first season winner, has purchased a great looking home in Nashville for a reported $1,490,000. The 5,470 square feet, 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom home is a second home for the singer, who also has a residence in Texas. Seems like a strong signal that Clarkson may be changing it up and trying her hand at country music. Idol alumni Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler have found success in this genre.

The Idol winner ran into a bad patch when she and record mogul Clive Davis butted heads about song choice and how the singer should be marketed. She canceled a planned concert tour because she couldn’t muster enough ticket sales to fill any of the venues. She and Clive have since mended fences and Clarkson has become more receptive to the career path decisions that are being charted by others on her behalf.

After attending Clarkson’s performance rehearsal prior to the American Idol season six finale, Blender magazine described Clarkson’s voice as such:

The Texas native has one of the great voices in pop music, a powerful and versatile instrument that’s steeped in the rhythm and blues and country music she grew up with in the South. If Mariah Carey’s five-octave voice is the equivalent of an expensively bred poodle, then Clarkson’s is a bloodhound: friendly, earthy, but fierce just the same.”

After a very public clash over the summer, Kelly Clarkson and Clive Davis appear to be back on good terms – at least if the photo at the bottom of this page is any evidence.

The BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group) chairman visited the American Idol champ and Grammy winner backstage at the sold-out opening night of her tour at New York’s Beacon Theater Sunday – according to People Magazine. The road trip marked Clarkson’s return to the stage after a bumpy summer that included the cancellation of her first tour, and her war of words with Davis. She later extended an olive branch to the music mogul in July, saying, “I’m well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time.”

It is starting to look like Clarkson has squandered a once in a life time opportunity to make it in the music business. She certainly has name recognition in the industry but she may turn out to be a flash in the pan if she doesn’t start taking the advice of seasoned veterans like Clive Davis.

The picture of Kelly Clarkson, first American Idol winner and Clive Davis posing for photographers has been relegated to the bottom of this page because it is extremely unflattering. Kelly has a lot to learn about image and star presence. Hopefully Clive can get Clarkson’s attention this time around and mold her into the star that he first envisioned she could become. She owes him that much.

Clarkson’s tour, meanwhile, will continue through 25 cities, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston and Nashville.
