How Desperate is Kirsten Dunst?

Could actress Kirtsen Dunst be so desperate for a role that she would crash a party honoring Oscar-winning director Jane Campion in order to give an impromptu audition?

Last Tuesday that is exactly what sources are saying occurred. Apparently Dunst showed up uninvited to the Plaza Hotel’s Oak Room and crashed a party being thrown for Campion.

Kirsten is reportedly lusting after a role in Jane’s upcoming film Runaway which is based on a book of short stories written by Canadian writer Alice Munro.

The New York Daily Post is reporting that Kirsten put on a shameless show in an effort to get the director’s attention. One source said, “Kirsten is tap-dancing like crazy to get a job.”

News Flash: Celebrity Rehab is Getting Fuzzy

Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler wants the world to know that when he checked into a rehab facility recently it wasn’t for all of the obvious reasons. He has a bad foot and the pain has been traumatic. He is not the first to set the record straight about rehab. We heard earlier this week that Kirsten Dunst’s stint in rehab was not about substance abuse but was depression related.

Tyler said:

The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected but it would require a few surgeries over time. The ‘foot repair’ pain was intense, greater than I’d anticipated. The months of rehabilitative care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic. I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet. Make no mistake, Aerosmith has no plans to stop rocking. There’s a new album to record, then another tour.”

The statement follows reports that the 60-year-old singer was being treated instead for substance abuse. Some may question when rehab facilities began broadening their scope and others might even wonder if these celebrities are in denial about substance abuse issues.

Actress Kirsten Dunst is ready to set the record straight about her stay at Cirque Lodge treatment center in Utah. First and foremost she wants the world to know that celebrities are not different than anyone else and that “we are all in the same boat.”

The star took her time seeking help, waiting six months before she finally sought help for depression. In an interview with E! Kirsten said:

I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself. I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn’t know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge.”

Tired of her family having to always defend her actions, Kirsten now feels like she is able to open up about her situation. She stated:

There’s been a lot of misrepresentation about what is going on in my life, and this has been very painful for my friends and family.”

Wishing continued good health for Kirsten.

The latest actress to hit the rehab trail is Kirsten Dunst and sources say that she isn’t doing so great. Although Kirsten has been in the headlines many times for her carefree partying ways, it wasn’t an intervention that coaxed her into treatment, but rather some nudges.

Kunst has played the role of Mary Jane Watson in the Spiderman series. She was nominated by the National Movie Awards UK in the Best Actress category. She is currently working on How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. She has also signed on for another upcoming role in All Good Things, a film that is still in pre-production.

In the wake of Heath Ledger’s death, there are many stars who are taking a closer look at their lifestyles and trying to decide what they can do to get control of their personal situations.

Kirsten is receiving help with her addiction issues at Cirque Lodge Treatment Center, in Utah. Other stars who have also stayed at Cirque are Lindsay Lohan, Richie Sambora and Eva Mendes, who actually just checked out of the facility.

Two burglars sneaked into Kirsten Dunst’s room at the Soho Grand Hotel and swiped a $13,000 handbag, wallets, cash, cameras and an iPod.

Jarrod Beinerman and an accomplice took a guest elevator to the floor below Dunst’s suite and then took a freight elevator up to the penthouse level. From there it wasn’t very difficult: the scheming duo walked through an open door into the penthouse sweet and made off with the goods.

The robbery occurred after Dunst, actor Simon Pegg and an assistant left the penthouse in the Soho Grand Hotel early Aug. 9 to shoot scenes for her new film, “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.”

Dunst has a $13,000 handbag? Hmmm, maybe she could afford to buy herself some style at some point.
