Kanye West is on a one-man crusade to get “his girl” Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue magazine.
He recently said during a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest, “There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s, like, the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her, like, every day. And collectively, we’re the most influential with clothing.”
Then he took a strange swipe at the First Family. “No one is looking at what the president is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a sexy swimsuit pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.”
His point, we surmise, is that the First Lady has appeared on the cover of Vogue a number of times and thus far “his girl” is not considered a legitimate cover choice.
West remains hopeful because Carine Roitfeld, the former editor of French Vogue, “totally gets” Kim. She purred, “In my industry, beauty is a talent. People used to be, ‘What is Kim talented at?’ She’s talented at being beautiful!”
Editor Anna Wintour has actually gone so far as to ban Kim Kardashian from past Vogue events and cropped her out of a Met Gala photograph that was used in the magazine.
Kanye West seems to have taken the place of Kim’s mom-manager in promoting his future wife. He recently suggested that she deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also suggests that she will drop the name Kardashian and become Kim West after their walk down the aisle.
Clearly the man is delusional…
