Barefoot Baby Ousted from Burger King

Jennifer Frederick and her six-month old baby Kaylin Frederich, were kicked out of a Burger King in St. Louis, because the baby was barefoot.

Jennifer Frederich, along with baby Kaylin, the baby’s grandmother, and a church youth group of about 25, stopped by the Burger King on their way back from a Christian rock concert.

Citing health concerns, the manager asked Frederick to leave the restaurant.

Jennifer was told by the manager, “You can order ‘to go’ but you’re going to have to leave is she doesn’t have shoes on. It’s against health code.”

“The guy was still saying, ‘That lady is still here with that baby without shoes’,” Frederich said. “I just looked at him and I said, ‘That’s my daughter. She doesn’t own shoes. She’s only 6 months old’… she doesn’t walk. She’s not touching the ground. So there’s no reason for her to have shoes on.”

In an effort to comply, Frederich put socks on the baby, but the manager threatened to call police if she didn’t leave.

Frederich posted her story on Facebook, and word about the incident quickly spread.

“People had to know about this…if you’re going to go to Burger King get some shoes on your baby or go somewhere else,” she said. “I think they [Burger King manageers] just need to understand, it’s a baby. They’re not going to be walking around in their dirty, nasty, feet. I feel like the policy was probably for grown adults who might walk in without shoes on. That’s understandable. But, baby’s don’t wear shoes.”

No shoes, no shirt, no service…indeed! Seriously?

Gran Caribe Real Hotel’s Beach Stolen

Five people were detained for stealing sand from the sea floor and pumping it onto the beach in front of the Gran Caribe Hotel in Cancun, Mexico.

The powder-white sand beach in front of the hotel was closed and ringed by crime-scene tape, guarded by gun-toting sailors on Thursday.

“Today we made the decision to close this stretch of ill-gotten, illegally accumulated sand,” said Patricio Patron, Mexico’s attorney general for environmental protection. “This hotel was telling its tourists: ‘Come here, I have sand … the other hotels don’t, because I stole it.’”

$19 million has been spent by Mexico to replenish beaches eroded by Hurricane Wilma in 2005. Much of the sand pumped from the sea floor has since washed away, leading some property owners to take matters into their own hands, building breakwaters in an attempt to retain sand, which often just shifts sand loss to beaches below the breakwaters.

In addition to illegally pumping the sand from the sea floor onto the beach, the Gran Caribe Real Hotel is also accused of building a breakwater that prevented the flow of sand onto other hotels’ beaches.

No one at the hotel was available to comment on the sand stealing allegations.

Seriously, we never knew that there was such thing as National Donut Day, but today is the day to celebrate donuts. Thinking this might be something new, we were wrong. It all began back in 1938 as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army.

This is as great a reason as any to run to your local Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts shops and indulge in a little bit of heaven.

Onlookers at the Australian Open in Melbourne were in shock after a streaker ran out in the middle of a doubles match involving sisters Serena and Venus Williams and their opponents Ayumi Morita and Martina Mueller.

Security officers were quick to capture the man and he was only on the court for a total of 14 seconds. Tennis Australia spoke about the situation and said:

“The focus of the on-court security team is always on player protection. They are instructed not to chase offenders as their focus at all times must remain on the players. The on-court actions of the security personnel reflected this focus on player protection.”

A New York City artist Alex Gardega is selling $10 bottles of habanero hot sauce dedicated to the loser Wall Street financier Bernard Madoff. His tagline is ‘Madoff With Your $, You’re Gonna Bernie In Hell‘.

Gardega’s intent is not to have people use the condiment, Bernie In Hell, on their food because his website says it is “hellishly hot”. We can tell you from experience that cutting habanero peppers without gloves is a serious no-no, so one can’t begin to imagine what it does to your insides. Instead, the artist is just trying to make a point about Madoff and the despicable things he has done to his clients. Gardega told the New York Post that he got the idea after watching TV news reports about Madoff.

Madoff is accused of stealing more than $50 billion from his investors. Some of the high profile investors include prominent hedge fund manager Michael Steinhardt, Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon and Liliane Bettencourt, heiress to the L’Oreal fortune.

The text, a message to Madoff reads, “You can take the money but can you take… the heat?!!!” We wonder if Gardega is donating his profits to all of the people that lost their money at the hands of Madoff?

Jay Mohr Takes Wife’s Name After Two Years of Marriage

This is an odd bit of news. After two years of marriage Gary Unmarried star Jay Mohr had decided to incorporate his wife’s last name to his. She is Las Vegas celeb Nikki Cox. Mohr filed a petition with the Los Angeles Superior Court last week in order to change his name to Jay Ferguson Cox Mohr.

His romantic gesture just happens to coincide with their second anniversary which falls on December 29th. This is the second marriage for both.

We found it odd that Mohr waited two years to switch it up, though he’s certainly not the first. Another celebrity that changed his name legally was John Lennon who took on Yoko Ono’s name to become legally known as John Ono Lennon.

Sondra Fortunato Booted from Giants Game for Skimpy Outfit

Sondra Fortunato, self-proclaimed “Miss Football,” was escorted out of Giants Stadium last week wearing a Santa Claus outfit, tiara, fishnet stockings, bathing suit bottom and high-heeled boots.

The well-endowed woman insists she was not showing any naughty bits, saying “You couldn’t even see my underwear.”

Carrying a suitcase containing Christmas presents and two signs reading “Go Giants” and “Have a No Guns Christmas,” Fortunato was told signs and baggage weren’t allowed.

Security also told the middle-aged woman to cover up because there were children present. According to Sondra she was told to wear a sweater to games and was lectured about her clothing choices. “Can’t you come to the stadium dressed like a regular person?” she was asked.

“I guess some ladies got jealous and complained,” Sondra figures.
