Beatles Remastered 2009 CD Boxed Sets (PHOTOS)

The entire recorded catalog of Beatles tunes has been remastered and will be available for purchase 09/09/09. The 14 albums, 12 studio plus Magical Mystery Tour and Past Masters compilation have been enhanced and repackaged in a much hyped CD rerelease. An earlier CD version released in 1987.

The first four albums are available for the first time in stereo, a coup for die hard enthusiasts and a vast improvement over the original mono version. If you are strictly looking for improved mono sound, you will have to fork over $189.99 for an entire set as they are not available individually. Stereo versions can be had separately for $18.99 or in boxed sets from $189 to $259, with Amazon on the low end.

What can buyers expect for their money? Improved sound, extra pictures and included with each set is a 49 minute mini-documentary DVD. According to Billboard Magazine, the sets were held to a limited manufacturing run; 33,000 stereo sets and only 10,000 mono. It is expected that brisk sales could generate a second manufacturing run.

Younger listeners will likely be disappointed that the remix tunes will not be downloadable from i-Tunes….but there is something they will like. The 09/09/09 launch was timed to coincide with the unveiling of The Beatles: Rock Band video game.

Heather Mills Opens V-Bites Vegan Restaurant (Photos)

Sir Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills has invested some of her divorce settlement cash on a new restaurant venture that she has named V-Bites. The official opening of the vegan restaurant was today in London and the couple’s daughter Beatrice was on hand to greet potential customers and well-wishers.

The outspoken activist is planning to be ‘hands on’ in her new establishment. Not only was she involved with the cleaning and painting of the restaurant but plans to cook on Sundays.

What will Heather prepare? Her favorites of course…roast potatoes, parsnips, and veggie gravy. If you buy into Heather’s world view of culinary cuisine, she says you will be “shocked” because most of the faux meats taste like the real deal.

Paul McCartney Takes on the European Parliament

Singer and animal right advocate Paul McCartney is using his celebrity voice to get the European Parliament to enact a ban on the sale of all seal products. In his quest to stop hunters from viciously killing the animals for their meat and skin, he has lent his support in the fight to make it illegal to hunt seal.

In Strasbourg next week there will be a vote by the MEP to implement a complete ban. Paul released a statement on the matter.

“The fate of millions of seal pups is in the hands of elected members of the European Parliament. In the next few weeks they will have a historic opportunity to stop the cruel trade in seal products throughout the European Union.”

Actress Pamela Anderson is also fighting the same battle with Russia. It should be interesting to see if their star power will have some impact on this matter.

Heather Mills Mad About $33.6 Million Divorce Settlement

One would think that Sir Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills would be done complaining to anyone who will listen about her messy divorce. Unlucky for us, she is still bitter about her whopping $33.6 million settlement.

Her latest complaints came as she stood at the podium to speak to a vegetarian charity called Viva. We’re guessing that is not what she was there to talk about, but she took the time to talk about how jilted she felt.

“I got 5 percent of what we earned together in seven years. And we earned it together; I worked my butt off doing the tours and everything.

Everyone thinks I am nuts because I speak the truth and I’m very outspoken. The meat industry hates me, the dairy industry hates me and the landmine industry. So I have a lot of enemies out there. But I also have a lot of support.”

We’re guessing that if she would have dug deeper, she could have come up with several more industries that dislike her. Get over it Heather and move on. If you are short on cash, we suggest you work a little harder and stop complaining so much.

Heather Mills May Have to Give Up Some of Paul’s Money

One must wonder if Sir Paul McCartney is getting any satisfaction from his ex-wife Heather Mills latest bout of trouble. Mills is being sued by her daughter’s nanny Sara Trumble, who claims that she has had to go above and beyond the call of duty with increasing regularity.

Trumble quit her job of caring for young Beatrice back in September because she was upset about the late night hours that were followed by early morning requests to blow dry Heather’s hair. She was also required to give her nude boss an overall spray tan. She claims she never signed on to be Mills caretaker too.

Heather and Sara have 28 days to come to an agreement on a settlement or the case will go in front of a judge. The last time Paul’s ex went before a judge, she ended up dumping a pitcher of water over the opposing lawyers head.

Mills is worth an estimated $51.4 million, thanks to a knock down drag out divorce settlement from the former Beatle. Sources say it is likely that a settlement will be reached because Heather will do everything possible to keep the nanny from spilling any secrets, and you can bet she’s seen and heard plenty.

Ex Beatles Paul McCartney sounds explosively bitter in his latest song Nothing Much, Just Out of Sight from his Electric Arguments album. Usually one to keep his feelings tight lipped, the legendary musician really let loose with a rant in this latest single. Apparently ex wife Heather Mills left some pretty deep wounds that the singer is still working through.

McCartney has collaborated with Youth in a series of electronic music experiments to which they’ve given the moniker The Fireman. New album Electric Arguments will be released on November 17, 2008.

Here’s the great part about Paul’s latest project – the album was completed in just 13 days and each song was written and recorded the same day and is a reflection of Macca’s feeling that very day.

Listening to the lyrics in Nothing Much, Just Out of Sight is painful - a bit hard to understand with all the screaming but we did catch a key phrase that seems to say it all “And you have money but no manners.”

Sir Paul McCartney Ignores Death Threat

This sounds pretty serious if you ask us! Sir Paul McCartney is due to perform for Israel’s 60th anniversary on September 25th in Tel Aviv. Even after being threatened by a suicide bomber, Macca says the show must go on.

The threat is coming from a militant Muslim leader that says that they will initiate a suicide bombing if McCartney doesn’t cancel his show. Preacher Omar Bakri stated:

“He will not be safe there. The sacrifice operative will be waiting for them.”

In this case, would it matter how much security you have with you – a bomb? If this story is true we are hoping that Paul rethinks his performance. But then again if he could survive being married to crazy Heather Mills he probably isn’t afraid of much.

Paul McCartney is 6 Weeks and 1 Day Closer to the End

It’s almost time to throw a party! Paul McCartney and Heather Mills are 6 weeks and 1 day closer to the end of their marriage. Today, a London High Court judge finally granted a “decree nisi” which under British divorce law means a preliminary divorce, which brings the divorce one step closer to being over. Next step will be to wait out the 6 weeks and 1 day and then let the champagne flow.

Neither McCartney nor Mills appeared at the hearing today with Justice Hugh Bennett, but because the couple has been apart for two years, this process can move forward. Mills must be chomping at the bit because she will receive $48.6 million when the fat lady finally sings.

The mismatched pair married in 2002, four years after McCartney’s first wife Linda passed away. Not able to make the union work, the two went their separate ways in May of 2006. Macca filed for divorce two months later. The couple share custody of their four year old daughter Beatrice.

You’re in luck if you know Heather Mills and are in need of baptizing. The show stealer made sure all eyes were on her at the divorce trial with her estranged ex husband Paul McCartney. After sucking the life out of the courtroom and $50 million dollars our of McCartney’s pocket, Mills made damn sure to make a circus out of the affair.

Paul’s lawyer Fiona Shackleton was in for quite a surprise when the two “ladies” were going back and forth with their war of words. Mills wound up and dumped a pitcher of water on her head. Looking at the picture below…. it does seem to have done Fiona a bit of good. She’s gone from dour to giddy. When Mills was questioned about the dousing she had this to say:

“Mrs. Shackleton said something under her breath so I cleansed and baptized her. I thought she looked fantastic…it did her a world of good, I have no regrets.”

Now Heather is taking on a new rant. She wants the world to know that her ex has three girlfriends going at the same time. Sigh….

Paul McCartney Remembers The Love of his Life Linda

At an art exhibition featuring the late Linda McCartney’s photography, Paul McCartney remembered his first wife and spoke some wonderfully kind words in her memory. The two met in 1965 while Linda was on a photo assignment for the Beatles. They married in 1969.

Paul, who just made it through a bitter divorce battle with second wife Heather Mills, spoke only of Linda and their time spent together. Linda passed away in April 1998 at their family ranch in Tucson, Arizona, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. McCartney said:

She was a great person to hang out with. She was so smart, funny and talented.”

Mills, by way of contrast, seemingly spends every waking moment trying to sway public perception of their breakup. In doing so, she has earned herself the image of gold digging bitter woman.

McCartney deserves to find another love like his first so that he can block out the nightmares of his second.
