Sam Lutfi: Restraining Orders, Lawsuits and Losing His Home

Sam Lutfi, self proclaimed former “manager” of Britney Spears, has filed a lawsuit against the singer and her parents Jamie and Lynne Spears. The reason? He claims defamation, breach of verbal contract and battery.

This comes a few days after Jamie Spears slapped a restraining order on Lutfi for continuing to contact Britney via cell phone.

It looks like Lutfi has some problems of his own. A lien was placed on his home last April stating that he was behind in his payments and by November the amount was $18,507. Sam has until February 10 to pay up on his condo or it will be foreclosed. Add to that the fact that Discover card has also filed a claim against Lutfi to recoup $7966 in unpaid charges.

The legal team for the Spears family should have no trouble squashing Lutfi’s claims. Most people are of the enlightened opinion that Lutfi is a snake and directly aided in the downfall of Britney.

Jamie Spears has demonstrated to the court that his conservatorship of Britney’s personal and business dealings was the right move. His daughter’s condition has stabilized, she has regained shared custody of her sons and her career is on track once again.

Britney Spears’ father Jamie Spears, who is the conservator for his daughter and her business affairs, has gone back to court to obtain restraining orders against the singer’s former manager Sam Lutfi, her former paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and the lawyer who previously tried to fight the conservatorship, Jon Eardley.

According to Los Angeles Superior Court papers, the three men are not able to come within 250 years of Britney, her property or family members.

Jamie, after reviewing his daughter’s cellphone records, discovered that Lutfi and Ghalib were contacting Britney via numerous cellphone calls and text messages. Jamie believes that Britney was ‘innocently’ giving them information regarding her schedule. They, in turn, were tipping off the paparazzi for financial gain.

Lutfi has apparently conveyed to Britney, through her hairdresser in late December, that he is close to breaking the conservatorship bond that has kept Britney under her father’s control. The elder Spears, suspecting that Eardley and Lutfi are again working together in this regard, included the lawyer in his court request for retraining orders.

Oh Please! Why is it that Sam Lutfi feels that he needs to be in Britney Spears life so badly? Hopefully it’s not because he thinks that he was the only one who could keep her head straight. Sam is planning on fighting the restraining order placed on him by Brit’s family a few weeks ago and wants Britney to help him.

Reports are saying that Sam has said “I am going to call Britney to the stand so she can tell the world how I was helping her, I am innocent. I am Britney’s friend and would never hurt her.”

Good luck on getting Britney to court, she couldn’t even make it to most of her court hearings to fight for her children. But I suppose if she is such a good friend to you, she will run to free you and make sure your name is cleared. BLAH!

Bitten and Bound has done several exclusive interviews and received many damning text messages sent out by none other than Lutfi. I don’t know how long restraining orders last, but forever can’t be long enough.

Sam’s lawyer Michael Sands has said that Sam will fight all the way to regain access to Britney. Wonder where Lutfi will get the money to pay this lawyer?

Britney Spears Conservatorship Case Now in Federal Court

The Britney Spears conservatorship case has now been shifted from State court to the U.S. Federal District Court!

As we reported earlier, John Eardley, a New York City lawyer, filed legal papers in federal court asking a judge to seize control of the conservatorship case.

Eardley claims, “It is doubtful that Ms. Spears can receive equal protection and a fair trial or hearing in the custody proceedings because of the intense media scrutiny of what would normally be private aspects of a person’s life.” It appears Eardley wants an injunction issued in federal court, asking the judge for the power to protect Brit in the custody case as well.

The documents allege “the deprivation of her civil liberties by the conservator is so severe as to interfere with the effectiveness of the scheduled medications that are covered by the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act.”

Sources say the federal court has probably obtained jurisdiction just by the papers being filed.

There is much speculation that Sam Lutfi is behind the filing. Given Lutfi’s dubious history, I am inclined to agree.

Bitten and Bound has received a lot of attention since posting our exclusive story with details of disturbing text messages Sam Lutfi sent to Ken Dungey and Danny Haines.

We began focusing on Lutfi back in December after we received an email from Dungey regarding Britney Spears ‘manager.’ Dungey was instrumental in getting out chilling information regarding Lutfi’s prior restraining orders.

We have since received information from two other sources with threatening text messages from Sam Lutfi. We posted Brianne Patterson’s experience with Lutfi, however, our other source is not ready to come forward just yet. In addition to Bitten and Bound, our source has been talking with CBS after they contacted us for the story they ran this morning on The Early Show.

Unfortunately, I am a technological idiot, so all I have from The Early Show at this point is the screen shot above until I can figure out how to use the video feature on my camera and upload it to my computer.

The following is the statement provided by Britney Spears‘ mom, Lynne Spears, in the restraining order issued against Sam Lutfi.

I, Lynne Spears, declare:

I am the mother of Britney Spears (“Britney”)., who is the subject of this action. I have personal knowledge of each of the facts set forth in this Declaration, and can testify completely thereto, except as this matters stated on information and belief, and as to such matters I believe them to be true.

This past Monday night (Jan. 28), Britney’s father, Jamie, and I (in separate cars) went to Britney’s house in Beverly Hills because we had heard news reports that Britney had just been in a big fight with Sam Lutfi aka Sam Lutfi (“Sam”), the man who has inserted himself into my daughter’s life, home and finances, and that she was crying. We were very concerned about her safety. We arrived at the Summit Community gatehouse in BHPO at approximately 10 p.m. I was with my friend Jackie.

The guards at the gatehouse stopped us there for awhile. Jackie, Jamie and I finally proceeded to Britney’s house and entered it. We were able to enter the house because it was not locked. Britney does not lock her doors and currently there are no security guards around her residence. Britney was not home. We found Sam, and Sam said as we walked in the door that Britney only wanted me to come to the house, and that she was afraid to see her dad.

Two or three paparazzi came into the house and entered the kitchen. They greeted Sam. The paparazzi then reported to Sam where Britney currently was. From the conversation between Sam and the paparazzi I determined that Sam had given Felipe (another paparazzi) [an X17 photographer] one of Britney’s cars to get her out of the house when he heard that Jamie and I were on our way to see Britney. I also understood from the conversation that Sam disabled all of Britney’s cars. (she has several at her residence.)

Sam had told Britney that Jamie and I were coming to the house to do an intervention, and that Britney panicked and took off with Felipe. Another man named Chad Hardcastle was in the house.

I also heard the evening that Britney’s and Sam’s fight that evening, Sam had told Britney that she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about Adnan, her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids, and that she does not deserve her kids.

The paparazzi reported to Sam and addressed him with great respect. They treated him like a general. He instructed them to get her back to the house. They later told Sam that Britney was on her way back.

Britney then came back to the house with Adnan, who is also a paparazzi. Sam then told Jackie that we needed to do whatever he tells us. I objected. He then told me, “I’m the one who spends 24/7 with your daughter. I sleep in cars outside her house so she can’t leave.” Sam then said, “You people throw everyone under the bus, if you don’t listen to me I’m going to make your name sh** in the papers.”

As I looked around the kitchen, I noticed that in the middle of the kitchen table there was a large car battery. At some point during the evening I learned that the car battery was there so Sam could charge his cell phone. Although Britney has several cell phones, he told us that he had disposed of all of the phone chargers and had made the house phones unworkable.

Sam told Jackie and me to tell Adnan to leave Britney alone and to get the F*** out of the house. Jackie refused. Sam then said to tell Britney that Adnan is gay. Adnan stayed at the house a little longer. Sam quietly said something to Adnan and Adnan promptly left the house.

Britney came into the room looking for Adnan. Sam told her that Adnan was in the bathroom. Britney then asked me, “Is Adnan gay?” While Britney was out of earshot, Sam told Jackie and me that we should pretend that Adnan was in the bathroom so Britney wouldn’t leave.

Britney then became very agitated and could not stop moving. She cleaned the house. She changed her clothes many times. She also changed her three dogs’ clothes many times. Britney spoke to me in a tone and with the level of understanding of a very young girl. Britney then picked up a bottle of pill sand read part of the label and asked us, “What does insomnia mean?” Sam told her that the pills will help her stay awake.

Sam told Jackie and me that he grinds up Britney’s pills, which were on the counter and included Risperdol and Seroquel. He told us that he puts them in her food that that was the reason she had been quiet for the last three days (she had been sleeping.) He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could then give her drugs to heal her brain.

Sam then encouraged us to sit down on a sofa and do “tequila shots.” Jackie and I said we did not want to. Britney seemed to follow our lead. Sam then got some wine out and said, “Let’s all do toasts with wine.” Britney said that she didn’t want to, she wanted a pretty glass. Sam found a glass with a stem and poured wine for Britney when we were not looking. Britney refused to drink her wine and asked to drink mine.

Shortly afterward, Sam went back into the kitchen and was standing behind a raised bar so that we could not see what his hands were doing on the counter. Sam then said to Britney, “let’s go upstairs,” and Britney followed him. Britney had calmed down by the time she went upstairs.

A little while later, Britney came downstairs. She seemed agitated again and told us that she wanted to go to Rite Aid for lipsticks. It was now past midnight. Jackie and I said we would take her. Sam told us that he wanted to follow us in his car. We told him that he shouldn’t because the paparazzi were in front of the neighbor’s house and would harass us. As were were about to drive off, Sam jumped into the bask seat of the car. The paparazzi followed. Sam and I were sitting in the back seat, with Chad as well. He told me that he gave Britney something (when they were upstairs) to make her more light-hearted, happy, and fun. We entered Rite Aid and Britney chose her lipstick. The manager said it is dangerous out there, which it was. When Britney gave the cashier her credit card, the cashier told her it was not working. I paid for the lipstick and the manager told us we could leave through the side door so no one could see us. Sam insisted we leave through the front door and he put his arms around Britney and me for the paparazzi to take photos. I disengaged as quickly as I could.

Sam told me,” You’d better learn that I control everything. I control Howard Grossman, Britney’s business manger. I control her attorney’s and the security guards at the gate. They don’t listen to Britney, they listen to me. That’s why Jamie was gone tonight.”

At another point in the evening, Sam bragged to me that he is the one who receives Britney’s checks and that one of them was for me. I told Sam that I hadn’t gotten any checks from Britney. Sam then told me that they are in his car. He told me that if he weren’t in the house to give Britney her medicine, she would kill herself. Then he said to me “If you try to get rid of me, she’ll be dead and I’ll piss on her grave.”

He then proclaimed that he has been in the family for a year and that he had one nothing but good for Britney. At this point, it was two or three in the morning. Britney was meandering around the house. She would let me hug her, but she was out of it.

At one point during the night, Sam was screaming at me and Britney said to me, “Sam treats me like that.” Then she picked up the house phone and said, “Look at the phone, it doesn’t work.” Sam then blamed the dead phone on Britney. Jackie spoke up and said to Sam, “You said you cut down the phone wire.”

Britney then said again at some point during the night, “When do I get to see my babies?” Sam answered, “Wednesday. “ Britney then said, “What do I have to do to see them?” Sam responded, “Take the pills I tell you to take.” Britney said, “I don’t like the pills and I don’t like the psychiatrist. Can’t I see another psychiatrist so I can see my babies?” Sam responded, “If I told you to take 10 pills a day, you should do what I tell you to see your babies.” Jackie then said, “Britney, your parents can help you find a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist needs to get to know you to give you the right medicine.” Sam then raised his voice and said, “Why don’t you get back with Kevin.”

Britney then said, “I’ll do anything to get them back.”

At some point during the evening, Sam said that Britney decided that he should be her manager.

Adnan has called me and told me he’s worried about Britney. He told me that Sam hides the phones and tells her he has lost them. He also hides her dog, London. She looks for him all over the house crying and then Sam brings the dog from the hiding place and acts like her savior.

While we were at Rite Aid, Britney went in and out of her British accent.

At 4 a.m., I was exhausted and wanted to leave. Sam blocked my car so I could not leave. I threatened to call Jamie on the phone.

Britney said, “I want my Daddy up here. I want to talk to my Daddy.” I reached Jamie on the phone and gave the phone to Britney. I heard her tell him that she wanted to see him. He said, “right now baby?” and she said, “no.” He said, “10:00 in the morning?” and she said, “no, noon.”

I spent the rest of the night at Britney’s house and for the first time in a very long time, when I lay down to sleep, I felt very agitated. I could not fall asleep at all. I felt like I had had coffee. Jackie, who had gone home earlier, later told me that she also could not sleep at all, and felt like she had had coffee.

Jamie came to pick me up the next morning. Jamie gave Britney a big hug and said to her, “baby, you’re OK?” Britney said, “I’m fine,” then burst into tears.

“To my knowledge, Britney never went to sleep that night and was very agitated for most of the night.

Sam and Chad, however, slept in the “smoking room,” a small room downstairs on the first floor of the house.

Later the next day, on January 29, Jackie showed me a text message she had received from Sam: “Thanks for telling Jamie all your bulls**t. He just hit me. Now you guys did your deed. Much accomplished. Good job.

I did not see Britney again until I arrived at her house on Wednesday night after Sam called me and told me to come to the house. When we arrived, Britney seemed subdued. The police arrived and took her to the Neuro Psychiatric Institute at UCLA (“NPI”). While at NPI, I l earned that Britney informed her doctor, Lee Sadja, MD, that she had also taken Aderol.

I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California that the foregoing is true and correct. Executed on January 31, 2008 at Los Angeles, California.

Hi Andrea,

Long story short…I have a friend of a friend who lives in Los Angeles that knows Sam. She probably wants to remain anonymous so I won’t give out her name. I was actually surprised to even learn that she knew Sam, noticing she had him added on Facebook and so I decided to send a random message to him which is how my contact with him began. I never actually spoke to him over the phone, was too chicken to call when he said to, although the one time he did call I picked up and just didn’t say anything (I’m shy, lol) but recorded him speaking. So we technically only ever spoke via text…and after a few random text messages about pretty much nothing, I braved it up to ask him about Britney and everything going on (not even thinking he would say anything), and that is when I received the message about Lynne. That same day I received a threatening text message from Sam which, frankly, I am too scared to show anyone — after the things I’ve been hearing and seeing from my friend, he is definitely someone I would not want to have anything to do with any longer.

I have no idea. It was like he turned on people – that, or he’s just trying to be intimidating. However, apparently I wasn’t the only one he acted towards in a threatening manner. According to my friend he deleted a bunch of people from Facebook, too, and also sent her a random message saying “I am her Father, brother, boyfriend and God, so f**k off.” We assume by “her” he means Britney.

Would you mind telling me what he said to you in the threatening text?

It says, and I quote, “I am going to f**ck you and so many people up.”

How long ago was this and why was he angry?

Like I said, I have no idea why he was angry, it was like he just snapped out of no where. The threatening message was sent on the same day he sent me the message about Lynne being delusional, the 31st of January.

My general opinion of Sam based on what I’ve witnessed from the messages I’ve received and what my friend has told me is that he’ll be easy to get along with one minute, but is also like a ticking time bomb ready to go off at any given moment. My friend says he seems to need to be in control of things, thinks he’s great, and hates people hovering around because it always has to be all about him.

And feel free to put the texts up on your site, I am not selling them for any amount of money – I just think that the more people see how horrible of a person he can really be, the better. I doubt I am the first one to receive messages like these and I am sure I won’t be the last.

Brianne subsequently told me her friend has met Sam Lutfi a few times and gone to clubs with him.

Bitten and Bound was able to verify the authenticity of the text messages through contact with Sam Lutfi at the number on the texts.

With news about a temporary restraining order being issued against Britney Spears‘ sidekick Sam Lutfi, more questions are being raised about this man who seemingly appeared from nowhere to become an integral fixture in the pop star’s life.

According to Ken Dungey, Lutfi often brags about the control he has over Britney. On January 19, Ken invited Sam to his birthday party. Ken explained what happened in an email to Bitten and Bound:

Sam called on the night I had my birthday party on Saturday the 19th, he had Britney sing Happy Birthday to me then she got on the phone and talked to me for a minute. Then Sam wanted to display his power he has against her.

Sam said “watch this, see how much control I have over her” and he said” Britney, I’m going to go to Orange County to Ken’s for his Birthday party” Sam always held the phone up so I could hear whatever Britney was saying. Anyways, I heard Britney say ok, let me get my jacket, then Sam whispered and chuckled and said to me “watch this” then he said ” no Britney, I’m going to go by myself, she went crazy starting to cry and said :” no Sam please don’t leave me here alone” and she was at his knees and he was laughing saying ” get up off the floor bitch.” then she ran out of the room crying and yelling.
These are the things I want to get out so everyone can see how he really treats her behind closed doors.

He included a text message Sam sent right after the incident:

Dungey met up with Britney and Sam at Petco the next day. Sam and Ken texted back and forth trying to coordinate the meeting.

Interestingly, when Ken arrived, there was already an X-17 photographer in the parking lot waiting on Britney’s arrival. The video below shows Sam, Britney, Ken and his girlfriend, as they enter the Petco.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Lutfi claims that he makes no money from Britney and he is there as a friend. He has said before that he is her manager. He also says that he has never accepted money from the media, however it has been widely reported that he informs the paparazzi of her whereabouts and provides them with invaluable information. According to X-17 co-owner Brandy Navarre, Sam tells her things “that the TMZs and Us Weeklys of the world would die for.”

When asked by Ken during one phone conversation how much money he actually makes, Lutfi allegedly replied “More money than most American CEOs.”

When OK! Magazine published “personal” photos of Britney Spears and her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, which were allegedly sold to the magazine by photographer Dani Brubaker, Lutfi sent text messages to Dungey about the incident, threatening to sue. Two days after the text messages, MSNBC reported that Britney had sold the pictures to OK!.

The night Britney was taken to the hospital, Ken saw the news on TMZ and texted Sam asking what was going on. Sam replied “Mental breakdown.”

We also obtained a text message Lutfi sent to Dungey’s friend Danny Haines, who took a restraining order out against Lutfi after his behavior turned violent. Read more about Danny’s ordeal in our earlier report. In the text message Lutfi says he hopes Haines’ sister is “raped to death.”

In addition to Danny Haines’ restraining order, two others have been issued against Sam Lutfi. Us Magazine has the chilling details that led to those restraining orders.

When I asked Ken if he feared retaliation from Sam Lutfi, he told me he had already contacted friends with the FBI.

Bitten and Bound made several attempts to call Sam Lutfi for comment on this story. He has not returned our calls.

Sam Lutfi was reportedly not playing nice with Britney Spears parents, Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears. TMZ is reporting that following Brit’s January 3, 2008 hospitalization, she had her lawyer draft a document giving Lutfi control of medical decisions. He stepped in early this morning and things got ugly before doctor’s opted to work with Brit’s parents rather than Lutfi. He reportedly left the UCLA facility at 4:00a.m. – and he wasn’t pleased to be odd man out.

According to reports, Britney is currently being held for 72 hours. If she refuses medication, doctor’s can extend that commitment period to 14 days, and forcibly administer medications.

Tension at UCLA Medical Center was reportedly heated between Spears parents and Lutfi on what course of treatment was best for the troubled celebrity. Brit’s parents, after consulting an attorney, have apparently gained back control and doctor’s are working with the parents in treating their daughter. Jamie and Sam apparently got into a shoving contest early this morning before Brit’s pal headed for the hills.

Sad commentary that even with Britney finally in a medical facility, those who are supposed to love her most can’t seem to get on the same page regarding her medical care. Is it any wonder this poor woman has deteriorated so badly?

Photos from early this morning show Lynne Spears in the same car with Adnan Ghalib and another showing them walking into the hospital together. It appears that Lynne has joined alliances with Britney’s boyfriend, and sees Sam Lutfi as a threat to her daughter.
