Shania Twain was absolutely stunning last night at the 42nd Annual CMA Awards in Nashville. The gorgeous country singer presented the award for 2008 Entertainer of the Year to Kenny Chesney, his fourth win. Twain took top honors in 1999.

The musician has been laying low after a breakup with her husband Robert John ‘Mutt’ Lange. The pair, who had been married 15 years, announced their split in May 2008. It was revealed that Lange had been having an affair with the couple’s secretary.

Singer Shania Twain, 42, and estranged husband Robert “Mutt” Lange, 59, are still making news after the announcement that the couple had split because Mutt was having an affair with the couple’s longtime secretary and house manager, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, 37.

The two were married for 14 years and have a 6 year old son Eja D’ Angelo. Sources say this is very difficult for the singer to handle and because she has considered Marie-Anne a very close friend.

Lange and Thiebaud both deny that this is the reason for the separation and Mutt said that he and Shania basically grew apart. Sources are painting a different picture and say:

Mutt and Marie-Anne left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship.”

Failed marriages are always difficult to accept and usually made way worse when one spouse cheats.

Last week it was announced that country singer Shania Twain was divorcing her husband Mutt Lange. The news was sudden and signaled the end of their 14 year union.

The reason behind the split has surfaced and is being reported by People. According to their source, Mr. Mutt was having an affair with the hired help. Marie Ann Thiebaud is an employee who has been the long time secretary and manager at the couple’s Swiss chateau. She and Lange have both left their respective spouses and continue to be in a relationship.

When contacted for comment, Lange did what any red blooded cheater does. He said:

It’s absolutely not the reason [for the separation].” Adding that he was not in romantic relationship with Thiebaud. “I’m not, no,” he said. “It’s not true.”

The singer is said to be devastated and is coping with the help of family and friends. This isn’t the last we’ll hear about the sad tale of woe. Shania is likely to pen a song about this sorted affair and it will sure to be a mega hit.

Singer Shania Twain and her husband Robert “Mutt” Lange have split. Spokesman Jason Owen provided the following statement:

Shania Twain and her husband Robert “Mutt” Lange are separating after 14 years of marriage. This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”

The couple married just six months after meeting and have a 6 year old son named Eja D’Angelo.

In past interviews with People magazine Twain has said, “Our love has always been based on friendship and compatibility, we are very different.”

Fame has not been easy for Shania and in the December issue of Redbook she admitted that she struggles with fame and coping with it has been very difficult.

This is all coming at a time when Shania will be entering the spotlight with the launch of her new perfume and an planned album release. The singer says she will be comfortable with the attention as long it is a “controlled and comfortable environment.”
