Six-time Paralympic gold medalist Oscar Pistorius was arrested early this morning and charged with the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp after her lifeless body was discovered at his home in Pretoria, South Africa.

The 26-year-old double amputee known as ‘Blade Runner’ stands accused of shooting Reeva in the arm and head with a 9-mm pistol early Thursday morning.

According to police in South Africa: the murder weapon was found at the scene, the accused was at his home after the death of the victim, and “there is no other suspect involved.”

A hearing has been delayed until Friday in order to give forensic investigators time to do their work. Police indicate they will oppose bail.

Media reports suggest that Steenkamp might have been in the process of trying to surprise her boyfriend of two months on Valentine’s Day and he mistook her for a burglar.

Steenkamp, 30, a law school graduate and aspiring model, gushed about Valentine’s Day on her personal Twitter page yesterday:

Oscar raced in the 2012 London Olympics, the first time an amputee runner was allowed to compete. He was chosen to carry the South African flag during the closing ceremony.

Pistorius successfully competed in the last three Paralympics Games, winning a total of six gold medals, a silver and a bronze during the 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games.

Kobe Bryant and Wife Vanessa End Divorce Action

Vanessa Bryant posts an announcement on Instagram indicating that her marriage to NBA superstar Kobe Bryant will remain intact and the divorce action that she initiated in December 2011 has been dropped.

The couple split thirteen months ago when she abruptly decided that his rampant infidelity throughout their ten year marriage was a deal breaker. They’ve since been able to work out their differences and will remain together with their daughters Natalia and Gianna.

She released this message on Friday:

Bryant was 21 when he met 17-year-old Vanessa while she was working as a background dancer on a music video. They wed eighteen months later and endured his sexual assault scandal in the summer of 2003. The NBA star was arrested for assaulting a 19-year-old hotel employee. He admitted having sexual relations but denied it was a sexual assault and later quietly settled a civil lawsuit for an undisclosed settlement.

The athlete is in his seventeenth season with the Los Angeles Lakers and has helped lead the team to five NBA Championships, the last in 2010. He recently joined Twitter and shared a photo that he tagged, “Good night/good luck kiss from my shorty rock.

What started out as a summer romance for Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and model Megan Rossee has apparently run its course and ended in a split.

It was during the 2012 London Games in late July that the world first learned about Phelps’ new love interest.

Rossee posted a Twitter photo that showed her leaning affectionately on his shoulder with her arm entwined in his as he clutched a slew of Olympic swimming medals.

Though they have not publicly acknowledged the split, they each tweeted messages that strongly suggest they have gone their separate ways.

The 27-year-old uber-athlete wrote, “Things happen for a reason #notme.”

She tweeted an image of a quote by an unidentified source, “A woman’s loyalty is tested when her man has nothing. A man’s loyalty is tested when he has everything.”

Along with the sage words of wisdom she tweeted, “Yep.”

Phelps didn’t reveal on Twitter how he rang in 2013 but its no secret that he loves Sin City. The breakup didn’t spoil his ex-girlfriend’s New Year’s Eve celebration.

She posted what appeared to be a Girls Night Out photo that she captioned, “The love of my life is the love between friends. Happy New Year! #truelove #bffs.”

Tim Tebow and Camilla Belle Dating?

Tim Tebow and Camilla Belle are “definitely an item” a source close to the actress claims after the two were were spotted together Tuesday night in Jacksonville, FL.

According to eyewitnesses, the 25-year-old New York Jets quarterback and 26-year-old actress were touching, holding hands and being “overly affectionate” while bowling and playing arcade games with a group of friends at Latitude 30.

Belle posted a photo of the club’s game room on Instagram with the caption, “Arcade anyone?” But there are conflicting reports on whether this was a date, or just pals hanging out as friends.

In a recent interview, Tebow described his perfect girlfriend as “someone sweet and kind, and that has a servant’s heart. It’s about finding a girl who likes me for me, and not because of what I do or who I am or the name.”

Tebow and Belle — who was on People magazine’s 2011 list of Most Beautiful People in the World, are both involved in various charities. Belle is a spokeswoman for “Kids With A Cause,” which helps kids suffering from poverty, hunger, neglect or abuse, and Tebow’s charity, the Tim Tebow Foundation, focuses on helping kids.

This isn’t Camilla’s first rodeo when it comes to dating famously virginal men. She dated Joe Jonas, who was still wearing his purity ring, from 2008 to 2009.

Tebow has been romantically linked to Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Dianna Agron.

Evelyn Lozada Files For Divorce From Chad Johnson

Reality star Evelyn Lozada has filed for divorce from her NFL husband Chad Johnson just five weeks after they exchanged their wedding vows.

Their house of cards came crashing down on Saturday night when Johnson aka Ochocinco head-butted his bride of 39 days, leading to his arrest on a charge of domestic violence.

The Miami Dolphins quickly severed ties with their wide receiver and his new wife is doing the same. Lozada filed divorce papers Tuesday claiming that the union was “irretrievably broken.”

Johnson issued a statement an hour later: “I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.”

Evelyn told reporters, “It is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay, and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well.”

The former ‘Basketball Wives’ celeb required treatment for a laceration on her forehead following the altercation with her husband.

VH1 announced on Monday that they were cancelling the couple’s upcoming reality show Ev and Ocho. The first season detailing their wedding planning and nuptials was slated to premiere in early September.
