Katie Holmes Will Perform on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ (PHOTOS)

Celebrating their 100th episode, FOX network show So You Think You Can Dance is pulling out all of the stops. Katie Holmes will take the stage and perform a song and dance tribute to Judy Garland, wearing the signature jacket and little hat that are iconic symbols of the late singer.

Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said that Katie and her daughter Suri love dancing and having been visiting the show’s rehearsals many times in the past.

The production is inspired by Garland’s song Get Happy from the 1950’s musical Summer Stock. Husband Tom Cruise has been on the set watching Kate and is reportedly “wowed” by his talented wife.

You can catch Katie in her dancing shoes on Thursday, July 23 at 9:00 p.m. eastern.

Suri Cruise, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, spent some time at the American Girl Place in Los Angeles yesterday.

The mini-celeb will be 3 years old on April 18. She was photographed with Katie, going into and later coming out of the trendy kid boutique. She was escorted in with her hair down, wearing a pair of summer sandals and dragging her famous security blanket.

As we all know, shopping can be exhausting. At the end of Suri’s retail adventure, she emerged barefoot, wrapped in her blanket, and sporting a messy swept back hairdo. Most interesting of all was the sight of the tot chewing on her flip flop.

We really only get to see Katie Holmes coming and going from the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City, where she stars in the Broadway show All My Sons. Last night proved to be no different, other than the fact that Tom Cruise and daughter Suri escorted her to the show.

If you have seen Tom in recent interviews, he seems to have relaxed quite a bit lately. We’re noticing flashes of a sense of humor and he’s even poking fun at himself. Is it our imagination or is he looking younger too? He seems to be tweaking his image in all areas.

Tom has been very accommodating to Manhattan fans with autographs and posing for pictures. It’s amazing how a guy can rise to the challenge when he is promoting a new movie. Valkyrie is in theaters now.

We were dumbfounded to see Suri Cruise being carried on the sidewalks of Manhattan by someone other than Tom Cruise or Katie Holmes.

We’ll hazard a guess that the gentleman in the photo is an employee of the family who sees to their security. Two year old Suri is usually hiding under a blanket, shielding her face from view or displaying a look of disgust at the paparazzi. She seems quite happy in these pics.

Today is Katie’s 30th birthday and she and Suri set off to visit a combination private nursery school and performing arts center. It looks like the little princess might be expanding her horizons soon.

Katie has been fully immersed in her Broadway play All My Sons and Tom Cruise is in the midst of promoting his latest film Valkyrie. Cruise was reportedly tied up with his own guest appearances and skipped the Los Angeles premiere of his son’s movie Seven Pounds. Connor Cruise has a role in the film, playing a younger version of Will Smith’s character.

Tom Cruise dished on his two year old daughter Suri with ET host Mary Hart. He started out, as any doting father would, by saying that his little princess is truly a “Girlie-Girl”. Then he expanded by saying, “She won’t wear pants.”

Katie Holmes, currently appearing in the Broadway play All My Sons, is frequently photographed with her young daughter on the sidewalks of Manhattan. We have seen Suri in any number of adorable dresses and usually the same pair of silver Mary Janes, although she occasionally wears a pair of black tap shoes.

More often than not, Suri is sockless and we’ve seen multiple photos of the Hottest Tot all dressed up and barefoot. Tom reports, “Kate finally got her in jeans the other day. We put the pants on and walk away and the pants are off and the dress is on.”

Sounds like we know who is ruling the roost in the Cruise household.

Forbes.com released their 2008 Hollywood’s Hottest Tots list and Suri Cruise ended up at the top of the heap of celebrity toddlers. The criteria for landing a spot include the number of press clipping, web presence and age. All 50 kids under consideration were 5 years old or younger.

We’ve got photos of the top ten media darlings of 2008. In rank order behind Suri are Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, Pax Jolie-Pitt, Sam Alexis Woods, Cruz Beckham, Matilda Rose Ledger, David Banda, Sean Preston Federline and Sam Sheen.

It is likely that Brad and Angelina’s oldest son Maddox would have landed on the list but for the fact that he is now seven years old – leaving him odd kid out among his sibs.

It has become a nearly every day occurrence to see Katie Holmes walking the sidewalks of New York City. The actress has been living in the city during her run in the Broadway show All My Sons.

Holmes was photographed out and about yesterday with her two year old daughter Suri Cruise. The pair were checking out a local Manhattan farmers market. Looks like Paddington Bear got to come along for the outing.

Katie Holmes was photographed leaving her Manhattan apartment building on Tuesday with Suri Cruise in her arms. Is it just us or does the two-and-a-half year old look like she might be a handful figuratively and an arm load literally? Sorry Suri – actually we think you just have a strong aversion to the paparazzi.

How about those leather pants on Katie? Fashion hit or miss? We’ve seen any number of fashion statements, including baggy man jeans rolled at the cuff while Katie has been staying in the Big Apple. How do you get into and out of those tight, tight leggings?

Holmes has spent the summer rehearsing for her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s play All My Sons. The show has been doing previews since September 18th and will officially launch on October 16th. The place has been packed at nearly every performance and the box office has grossed close to $700,000 thus far. Early reviews indicate she holds her own in a very challenging role among some veteran performers.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have been busy this past week. The couple and their 2 year old daughter Suri have been photographed in New York City, where they are temporarily living while Katie rehearses for her upcoming debut on Broadway in All My Sons.

The week started out with a quick trip back to Hollywood for the premiere of Tropic Thunder. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes walked the red carpet at the star studded event and then jetted back to NYC for another busy week.

We’ve got photos of the couple exiting Nobu restaurant, where they dined with Ben Stiller, as well as Tom taking in Saturday night’s pre-season NFL contest between the New York Jets and the Washington Redskins. We wonder if the mega star attempted to get up close and personal with the newly unretired quarterback Brett Favre.

We’ve noticed that Suri likes to leave her shoes at home more often than not and still clings to her baby ways with that milk bottle that should have been chucked some time ago. She also has a strong affinity for a special blanket.
