Tara Reid Rejoins American Pie For ‘Book of Love’

The last year has been very stressful for actress Tara Reid, who entered rehab and spent 60 days getting help with addiction issues. Now that she is turning her life around, it looks like her career is moving forward as well. It has been announced that she is reprising her role as Vicki Lathum in the seventh installment – American Pie: Book of Love.

Reid had a role in the first two installments and will join cast members Eugene Levy, Wayne Newton and Sherman Hemsley of The Jeffersons.

The photo above was taken last month at Perez Hilton’s 31st birthday party, held at the Viper Room. Dare we say….she looks stunning.

Actress Tara Reid has been known for one thing – partying. After spending 60 days in rehab, Tara is out and talking about what went wrong in her life.

It seems like this is probably more common for stars who get thrust into the spotlight and don’t know how to cope with the intrusion. Being shy is what Tara said was the start of her downfall.

“I felt like everyone was judging me and watching me. I think I drank because it gave me a kind of confidence. When I went out, everyone always wanted to have a drink with me – because I was known as this fun, party girl. I became that person.”

Drinking for Tara was also a way to help her sleep. Reed said her troubles with insomnia and struggling to get some rest, pushed her to become a night drinker who wouldn’t stop until she passed out.

Hopefully the actress has been given the tools to help her through this crucial transition time. She will need to surround herself with friends who are willing to support her sobriety. We wish her well.

Tara Reid Checks into Promises Treatment Center

Tara Reid entered the Malibu Promises Treatment Center on Tuesday according to her rep Jack Ketsoyan. He released the following statement:

“We appreciate your respect to her and her family’s privacy at this time. Her friends and family are supportive of her decision. She checked in herself – it was her decision.”

The 33 year old told People magazine in an October interview that she had turned a corner from being a hard hitting drinker and was now a “social drinker”. When asked about the temptation to fall back into old habits, she replied: “No, I’ve done it. Trust me. I’ve done enough for a lifetime of everything. I’ve had a great time. I partied. I had fun. I ate and drank whatever. I dated a million guys, but I’m so happy with where I’m at right now. I don’t need to do anything anymore.”

No word on what Reid is being treated for or the length of her stay. Typically the minimum stay is 28 days, which would mean that the American Pie actress would be in treatment through the holiday’s, often a difficult time for those who are challenged by addiction issues.

We applaud her decision and wish her well.

The media has had more than one field day with ‘hot mess’ Tara Reid. Now the actress is talking to People magazine and says she is sick of all the criticism.

In 2004 Reid underwent liposuction surgery on her stomach and it left her with horrible scarring. Then in 2006 she went in for reconstructive surgery but in the end was left with what she calls “battle wounds”, including the dreaded uneven abs.

Here we go again. Pictures have surfaced of Tara on the beach sporting a bikini, which has renewed the jab assault from those who enjoy getting in their digs. She said, “I’ve been a media target for years now, it does hurt my feelings, but what can I do? I have to move on.”

She’s been keeping herself busy with some independent film work and designing her own clothing line Mantra, which she says reflects her moods through casual wear, bikinis and t-shirts. She wants her fashion offering to be all about feeling good about yourself. Hopefully Reid will fare better than celeb Heidi Montag, who was recently dropped by Anchor Blue.

Tara Reid was photographed last night enjoying herself at L.A.’s top lesbian hotspot, the Falcon Club in West Hollywood. She looked wonderful in green and was accompanied by an unidentified brunette who was sporting a white toga like top.

Tara Reid dined at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills on Sunday. The celebrity signed an autograph and was all smiles as she made her way out the door of the establishment. Her short top shows off her well toned midriff.

The actress has a movie set to release in October 2008. Land of Canaan is a psychological thriller and horror flick about murder and hauntings in a Nevada town, based on a true story.

Reid has really stepped up her game over the past year. See her Then and Now photos, which would suggest Reid has hired a personal stylist. The actress has landed a fair number of modeling opportunities, including this hot lingerie photo shoot.

Tara Reid, 32, is an actress who started her career at age six on the game show, Child’s Play. She also did the kid commercial circuit, getting work from McDonald’s, Crayola and Jell-O. She attended the Professional Children’s School in NYC with celebrities Christina Ricci, Ben Taylor, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Macaulay Culkin.

Reid made her breakthrough in American Pie in 1999. She developed a party girl reputation at an early age and was recently voted ‘top party animal’ by In Touch Weekly. She starred in the half-hour television show Taradose on E! network in September 2005. The show had a one month run.

More recently, Reid had a hot photo shoot in Stuff magazine in March 2007 the graced the September 2007 cover of FHM magazine. She has also filmed a commercial for Dodo, an Australian phone and internet provider.

Reid has been under close scrutiny for what appeared to be a significant weight loss in the later part of 2007. There were also reports of a collapse and hospitalization related to alcohol abuse. The actress did admit to several plastic surgeries, including a badly botched breast augmentation that was eventually corrected by another surgeon.

Party girl Tara Reid isn’t feeling the love from the media these days. Reid has expressed that she doesn’t understand why she gets such bad press for being happy.

Tara says she has not broken the law and does not deserve to be punished, unlike Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan who were drinking and driving. Tara thinks the judicial system was correct in punishing the two celeb’s.

I think what Tara is missing, is that the reason people have such a tarnished opinion of her is how she goes about her partying ways. The falling down and running make-up don’t look good on anybody.
