The Voice Top 3 head to finals

Two artists on ‘The Voice’ were eliminated Tuesday night, leaving only three acts to face off next week in the final round of competition.

Adam Levine’s Amber Carrington and Shakira’s Sasha Allen reached the end of the line during the semi-final round.  They both hit Twitter to express their appreciation to fans.

Sasha Allen and Amber Carrington eliminated

Amber tweeted, “I touched so many hearts through out my time on The Voice!  My life has forever changed.  I LOVE you guys!”  Sasha posted, “What a ride… Thank you for your LOVE and support!!”

Left to vie for the coveted recording contract are Usher’s Michelle Chamuel, and Blake’s Danielle Bradbery and The Swon Brothers.

Shelton’s Season 2 and Season 3 proteges Jermaine Paul and Cassadee Pope were victorious, as was Season 1 winner Javier Colon – mentored by Adam Levine.

Odds seem to favor coach Blake Shelton to beat the rest of the coaching pack again this season — but unless we’re mistaken, it will be Usher’s artist who ends up winning Season 4.

Next week’s Live Results show will feature Cher, Florida George Line ft. Nelly, Pitbull ft. Christina Aguilera and Bruno Mars.

I hate this country

Mentor-coach Adam Levine voiced his displeasure last night during the elimination segment on ‘The Voice’ and was heard saying on an open microphone, “I hate this country.”

Two of his artists, Sarah Simmons and Judith Hill, were voted out of the competition and the Maroon 5 frontman was clearly frustrated with how America voted.

Twitter blew up as outraged fans took Levine to task for what appeared to be a decidedly negative comment.  He responded with not one … but four clarifications:

Miranda and Blake perform tribute duet

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a heart-felt rendition of her hit song ‘Over You’ last night on ‘The Voice’ as a tribute to the residents of Moore, Oklahoma.

Throughout the poignant performance, NBC displayed a banner at the bottom of the screen that read: “To help disaster victims, please donate at redcross.org or call 1-800-HELP NOW.”

The Oklahoma native and his wife opened Tuesday’s results show with the touching duet.  Afterward Shelton said, “I think ‘Over You’ was the perfect song for this situation.  The moment was right.  I wish things could have been different.  I wouldn’t have thought about performing a song like that, but it seemed like the right thing to do.”

Blake announced that he is already working with NBC on a concert to aid tornado victims, “Hopefully, it will be something big and will raise a lot of money, and obviously it will be televised.  It will happen really quickly and, hopefully, I can call in some really big favors.”  As he said the last, he was pointing at his fellow coach, Usher.

Cee Lo and Xtina rejoining The Voice

Unlike other reality talent competitions, NBC’s ‘The Voice’ is not feeling the need to shake things up, but rather has decided to revisit the past by inviting Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera back as season 5 coaches.

Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will remain firming entrenched with the show while Shakira and Usher will be given a one-season break to do other things.

The popular singing show has been killing it with the ratings since the series debuted during the 2010-11 season, much to the dismay of their sagging competitor ‘American Idol.’

New mom Shakira has been experiencing some serious mommy guilt, of late, and is looking forward to returning to Spain when the season wraps in June.

The announcement came today from Paul Telegdy, president of programming at NBC: “We locked in a plan several months ago to have the outstanding Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green rejoin Blake and Adam for cycle 5, and we’re pleased to announce that the original four coaches are going to be back together in the fall.”

“They’re the reason this show was launched so strong for the first three cycles and we owe them a debt of gratitude.  And after careful consideration of everyone’s schedules for next spring, we are excited to be returning the current cycle of judges — Shakira and Usher along with Blake and Adam — for cycle 6, which will premiere after the Winter Olympics.”

Not coming back for Season 5

Shakira confirmed yesterday that she is leaving the popular NBC reality singing competition ‘The Voice’ at the end of the season.

The entertainer told Access Hollywood that she may try another stint in the future but “not for next season, for sure.  I have to get back to my baby — give him some love and dedicate some time to him and also to the new album that I’m working on.”

Shakira, 36, gave birth to son Milan on January 22, 2013 in Barcelona, Spain, where she resides with her 26-year-old boyfriend and baby daddy Gerard Pique.  He is a Spanish footballer who plays as a central defender for FC Barcelona.

Several weeks after her baby was born, the Columbian singer-songwriter head to L.A., where she hooked up with Usher as the newest cast members on ‘The Voice.’

The Top 10 contestants on ‘The Voice’ will take the stage next Monday, with Season 4 wrapping on June 18, 2013.
