Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock WIN Golden Globes (Photos, Video)

The 66th Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton last night. The Hollywood Foreign Press honored this year’s crop of outstanding performances with the coveted statues. Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and their hit show 30 Rock swept the comedy category.

The show won Best TV Series Comedy honors, Tina Fey won Best Actress in a TV Series Comedy, and Alec Baldwin won Best Actor in a TV Series Comedy.

Tina’s first words after taking the stage for her acceptance speech were, “Good gravy. As a kid I had all of the Foreign Press action figures.”

She also spoke about her huge surge of popularity in 2008. “If you ever feel too good about yourself, they have thing thing called the internet. You can find a lot of people there who don’t like you and I’d like to address some of them now.” Then she went on to mention several websites by name: dianefan, BabsonLaCrosse, Cougar-letter, telling them “You can suck it.”

Rumer Willis was Miss Golden Globe 2009, handing out the statuary for the event. She is the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis.

Tina Fey’s scar is not something she likes to discuss, but in the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine, the actress and her husband, Jeff Richmond, talk about the childhood slashing incident that caused the scar on the left side of her face.

“It’s impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it,” she says.

Fey’s husband, SNL composer Jeff Richmond, says he was fascinated by the scar. “This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something. And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life. When you have that kind of thing happen to you, that makes you scared of certain things, that makes you frightened of different things, your comedy comes out in a different kind of way, and it also makes you feel for people.”

“It was in, like, the front yard of her house and somebody just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen,” Richmond says of the incident.

Fey was shaken up over the anthrax attack at 30 Rock shortly after 9/11 and used therapy to cope with her fearful reaction. The therapist talked to her about 9/11 and the anthrax delivered to Tom Brokaw’s office, linking them to the crime against her when she was little. “It’s the attack out of nowhere,” Fey says. “Something comes out of nowhere, it’s horrifying.”

Actress and comedian Tina Fey has been riding high with her hit show 30 Rock and her hilarious portrayal of Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live. She graces the cover of the January 2009 issue of Vanity Fair.

The talented Fey’s career slipped into high gear this fall when she captured the full attention of a nation with her ‘dead on’ impersonation of John McCain’s V.P. running mate. That short stint of comedic episodes snared her a $5 million book deal.

Fey is married to Jeff Richmond, an SNL composer. They have a three year old daughter Alice. The actress calls her spouse “the Joe Biden of husbands”, likely to “drop the bomb” in interviews. In the course of their conversation with VF, Jeff spoke on a subject that has not previously been discussed – Tina Fey’s facial scar. Said Richmond, “It was in, like, the front yard of her house and some body just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen.”

Tina Fey, as Governor Sarah Palin and Queen Latifah, as Gwen Ifill, were at the top of their game in the Saturday Night Live opening skit on October 4th. They clearly nailed it.

Fey returned for a third round as John McCain’s VP pick. Playing the role of Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden was Jason Sudeikis.
