Tameka Foster Shocked by Usher’s Divorce Filing

On June 12th singer Usher filed for divorce in Atlanta, stating that he and Tameka Foster’s marriage was “irretrievably broken.” On the divorce paperwork, he indicated they have been separated since July 2008. This news came as a shock to Tamika who claims that they were intimate just days before he proceeded with the filing.

The two married in August of 2007 and have two young sons, Usher Raymond V, 19 months, and Naviyd, six months. Usher has asked for joint custody.

The R&B singer says that their marriage was in trouble within less than a year after they exchanging their vows. She claims that assertion is totally false and is making darn sure that she covers herself in the divorce as well.

The distraught spouse has also filed her own set of papers asking that all of her legal bills be paid and that the family, as in–she and the children, continue to be supported in the style to which they have become accustomed.

Recording artist and actor Usher has filed for divorce from his wife of two years, Tameka Foster Raymond. The talented musician petitioned the Superior Court of Atlanta on Friday to end his marriage. Their first court date is Wednesday, July 15 at 2:30 p.m., when they are to appear at a domestic relations scheduling conference.

The couple have been living apart for several months. They were married in August 2007 and have two sons, 18-month-old Usher Raymond V and 6-month-old Naviyd Raymond.

On February 6, 2009, Tameka went into cardiac arrest in Brazil while undergoing anesthetized prior to a plastic surgery procedure. Usher rushed to South America to be at his wife’s bedside during her time in intensive care.

Usher fans were disappointed last night after record mogul Clive Davis announced that the singer would not be performing at his Pre-Grammy party as expected, due to a family emergency.

The R&B singer is married to Tamika Foster and they have two children. The rumor mill was working overtime with talk that Tamika had passed away after having some plastic surgery procedure that went terribly wrong. Although friends are denying the death, Access Hollywood is saying there were indeed some complications for Foster after having cosmetic surgery in Brazil.

Details remain sketchy but Clive did tell his guests last night that he had received phone calls from Usher and his mother, who both reported that they were dealing with a very serious illness in the family.

Usher and wife Tomeka Foster are expecting baby number two.

Usher, 29, and Tomeka, 38, were wed in a civil ceremony in Atlanta in August, 2007, and welcomed their first child, Usher Raymond V, in November, 2007.

The singer says his son, nicknamed Cinco, as an “extension of his union” with Foster.

“I’m so proud to be a father by the time I’m 30,” he told PEOPLE magazine last month. “I’d hate to be 80 years old and not be able to run with my kids. I need to still be able to do flips when they’re in high school!

Usher recently announced that he will kick off a ladies-only tour called One Night Stand later this fall. Now that he’s a married family man, he hopes this tour will prove that he’s still sex-symbol material.

Usher Pulls His Mommy Out of Retirement

Well that didn’t last too long – Usher fired Benny Medina and rehired his mother Jonnetta Patton as his manager amid rumors of marital trouble between the singer and his wife Tamika Foster.

Usher and his mother parted ways in 2007 and things were so stained that she didn’t show up for her sons wedding to Foster. At the time of his original parting with Patton, he claimed that it would be easier to have a mother and son relationship with her out of the business. Just one month ago he told Vibe magazine that his mother is an ‘aggressive person’. That was then and this is now.

E! News spoke with fired manager Medina and he had this to say:

“With an artist like Usher, the bar is set really high. Whether it was management, marketing of the music, we achieved a No. 1 single and a No. 1 album…I had a great time and we parted ways amicably.”

The split was reportedly due to the disappointing record sales of their collaberation on Here I Stand. Don’t feel too sorry for Medina. His stable of talent still includes Mariah Carey, Nicole Ritchie and Rupert Everett. He has also been involved with J-Lo, Tyra Banks and P. Diddy.

That is not the only change that has been made on Usher’s team. He also reportedly booted his publicist, Patti Webster but don’t call her ‘fired’ because she claims that’s not how it came down.

After canceling their widely publicized wedding last weekend, Usher and Tameka Foster were married during a private ceremony in his lawyer’s office in Atlanta on Friday.

Among those present was Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, who, it has been widely reported, staunchly disapproved of the marriage. Foster was reportedly largely responsible for Usher firing his mom as his manager last May.

The pair, who are expecting their first child together this fall, had been scheduled to marry last weekend before Usher publicist Patti Webster announced the wedding was called off.

The couple reportedly disagreed over an elaborate prenuptial agreement supported by Usher’s mother.

Tameka (I ain’t sayin’ she a gold digga) Foster wasn’t getting her way. Usher’s mom was against the wedding. These are two of the reasons sited for the last minute cancelation of the wedding scheduled to take place yesterday at the Southampton, N.Y., estate of music mogul L.A. Reid.

“Usher’s mother [and former manager, Jonetta Patton, whom he fired in May] is against the wedding. That is one of the main obstacles,” according to the source, who also said of the bride, 37, and groom, 28: “They only decided two weeks ago to have a wedding. They wanted to have it take place before the baby bump started showing.”

Usher (full name: Usher Raymond) and Foster, a stylist, also “had a lot of differences about the details. For example, the bride wanted barbeque, [and] he wanted to have [renowned chef] Jean Georges cook,” said the source.

As a result of the differences, the wedding “was on again off again for the past few days. [Foster] was calling it off because she wasn’t getting the things that she wanted. The mother was calling it off. … Usher was calling it off.”

Yep, sounds like this marriage would have been heading to divorce court pretty soon.

Usher and Tameka Foster Wedding Abruptly Canceled at the Last Minute

The wedding of Usher and Tameka Foster, originally planned for Saturday afternoon at record executive LA Reid’s home in New York’s Hamptons, has been canceled, a representative for Usher confirms to PEOPLE.

A source also says that the 70 to 100 guests who were expected at the wedding are being advised that the event will not take place as originally planned. Flower decorations have also been seen being removed from the Reid home.

In a statement to the Associated Press, publicist Patti Webster said, “It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected.”

In an effort to get hitched before the baby arrives, Usher and Tameka Foster have decided to move forward with their wedding and tie the knot this weekend at the Hampton home of LA Reid.

Although the guest list is said to include famous friends such as Beyoncé and Jay-Z, people who have known Usher the longest – including his assistant of six years and his mother – both of whom Usher recently fired, allegedly at the request of his fiancée, may not be in attendance.
