Paris Hilton album

We would be lying if we didn’t say this comes as a shock!  Lil Wayne‘s record label Cash Money Records has signed Paris Hilton to release an album.

Brothers Bryan ‘Birdman Williams and Ronald ‘Slim Williams’ are the founders and co-CEO’s of the lucrative enterprise that operates as a subsidiary of Universal Music Group.

Birdman announced the news on Twitter, “Lil Wayne’s Cash Money family has a new member! Paris Hilton: RichgangRichgirl.”

Do you remember Hilton’s 2006 album?  Move the slider to the 30 seconds mark for a little taste of ‘Stars Are Blind.’

Paris has been training and DJing with some pretty impressive house music names for the last couple of years.  She told Showbiz411 that her upcoming album will be produced by her old boyfriend Afrojack and will feature some well known talent.

She hit Twitter to share a YouTube link to ‘Last Night (I Wanna Bang You)’ that she recorded with Lil Wayne in November:

Mini 'Friends' reunion on Ellen

In an amusing skit that aired Wednesday on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ Jennifer Aniston staged a mini reunion with two of her former ‘Friends’ co-stars.

A film crew shot video of the 43-year-old actress paying an early morning visit to Matthew Perry.  Suffice it to say — he seemed less than pleased that she was ringing his door bell at 8:00 a.m. in the morning.

She stammers, “We used to walk into each other’s apartments all the time.  I mean, we’re friends!”

His retort, “That was a TV show, we haven’t actually seen each other in a pretty long time, like eight years.”

While they continue to make uncomfortable small talk, Courteney Cox attempts to exit Perry’s residence after what we are to assume was an overnight stay.

Cox points at Aniston and asks Perry, “You’re not sleeping with her too, right?”

In a serious moment, Ellen asked Jen if a real ‘Friends’ reunion is in the cards.  The actress responded, “Doing that little bit with Matty and Court yesterday was… we were very nostalgic and miss working together.  We miss each other and it’s a great thing to go back to your family like that.  Also, I know that people would love it.”

Aretha Franklin clears June concerts

Aretha Franklin recently cancelled two May concert engagements and has now been forced to clear her June performance schedule in order to undergo unspecified medical treatment.

The 71-year-old singer initially pulled out of a May 20th Chicago gig and a planned event slated for May 26th at the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

Franklin’s publicist notified three additional show promoters that health issues have forced the singing star to clear her calender for the entire month of June.  A Michigan engagement and two Canadian performances have now been cancelled — including a June 26th headliner appearance at the Ottawa Jazz Festival.

Festival director Catherine O’Grady made this announcement: “We are incredibly disappointed.  I’ve been working on this deal for a very, very long time.  It’s doctor’s orders, she’s really not well.”

The icon last took an extended break from performing in late 2010 when she underwent a medical procedure that her doctor claimed would add 15-20 years to her life.  She dropped 85 pounds following surgery that she later acknowledged did facilitate the weight loss but “was not a gastric bypass procedure.”

One gig that the Queen of Soul did keep last week, via satellite, was for the season finale of ‘American Idol,’ where she performed a medley of her hits with the Top 5 contestants providing backup vocals.

Miranda and Blake perform tribute duet

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a heart-felt rendition of her hit song ‘Over You’ last night on ‘The Voice’ as a tribute to the residents of Moore, Oklahoma.

Throughout the poignant performance, NBC displayed a banner at the bottom of the screen that read: “To help disaster victims, please donate at redcross.org or call 1-800-HELP NOW.”

The Oklahoma native and his wife opened Tuesday’s results show with the touching duet.  Afterward Shelton said, “I think ‘Over You’ was the perfect song for this situation.  The moment was right.  I wish things could have been different.  I wouldn’t have thought about performing a song like that, but it seemed like the right thing to do.”

Blake announced that he is already working with NBC on a concert to aid tornado victims, “Hopefully, it will be something big and will raise a lot of money, and obviously it will be televised.  It will happen really quickly and, hopefully, I can call in some really big favors.”  As he said the last, he was pointing at his fellow coach, Usher.

X Factor Season 3 Judges Panel ... first photo

The ‘X Factor’ season 3 auditions are underway and we’re got the first photo of the judging panelists who will decide the fate of a new group of talent.

Simon Cowell will be the lone male at the table with Latin singer Paulina Rubio, returning judge Demi Lovato, and former Destiny’s Child performer Kelly Rowland rounding out the lopsided mix.

Cowell kicked things off by telling those assembled at North Charleston Coliseum, “Is it a coincidence that when I arrive everything gets better?”

Producer auditions were held over the past three months and now it is the judges turn to scrutinize the wannabes.  The first venue is a two-day event in South Carolina that began on Tuesday.

From there the judges will travel to New Orleans June 11-12, Long Island June 19-21, Denver June 30-July 2 and Los Angeles July 10-12 to take a second look at performers who stood out during the producers round.
