blake shelton and miranda lambert

Country singer Miranda Lambert is looking fabulous these days!  Rocking a blue gown at the County Music Awards last week, it was apparent that she has dropped some weight.

Miranda turned the big 3-0 on November 10th and her weight loss is the result of some easy diet tricks that allowed her to get into shape for her big birthday.

She told PEOPLE mag, "People think I lost more, but I'm short. I'm only 5'4" so when I gain, I gain everywhere, and when I lose, I lose everywhere."

No fad diets, Miranda hired a trainer and exercised and controlled her portion size, "I haven't given up everything! I try to just cut everything in half."

One thing that Lambert didn't give up was drinking, "All through my 20s I worked a lot -- I was on the road since I was 17 and the road life is a lot of fast food and a lot of late nights and a lot of drinking -- I didn't give up drinking. I refused. You have to drink to put up with my husband! Just kidding!"

Miranda states emphatically that her country singing husband Blake Shelton has been her number one supporter throughout her weight loss journey. "He said, 'I have never had a problem with any way you look at any point -- you are beautiful to me at any size and every size.'  But he has been proud of my hard work on this. He brags on me. That makes me feel great."

Everyone needs a cheerleader, way to go Miranda!

george strait entertainer of the year

Country power couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were feeling the love last night at the 47th CMA Awards in Nashville.

Veteran singer George Strait picked up the Entertainer of the Year honors -- beating out Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift.

Still reigning as Country's premiere performers, Blake and Miranda were once again named Male and Female Vocalists of the Year -- their fourth year in a row.

'The Voice' mentor also snagged Album of the Year for 'Based on a True Story.'  He literally pulled the award out of presenter Sheryl Crow's hand and mentioned that the cell phone in his pocket was blowing up.  Shelton has never been subtle.

He reflected on his first win in this prestigious category, "I had mentioned earlier today that if there was one award that would mean the most to me, it would be Album of the Year."

George Strait, midway though a two-year The Cowboy Rides Away tour, seemed genuinely shocked by his Entertainer of the Year win.  He exclaimed, "What?! Oh, my gosh, never in a million years."

The last time Strait picked up a Country Music Association award was five years ago when he won Album of the Year for 'Troubadour,' and Single of the Year for 'I Saw God Today.'

team usher with michelle chamuel

During the final evening of competition on season four of the NBC hit singing competition 'The Voice,' Usher Raymond declared his protege Michelle Chamuel "the winner."

Shakira seemed to agree, "Your energy is contagious.  You're extraordinary.  You're needed out there, as an artist."

Coach Blake Shelton was kind but saved his best praise for his two remaining acts - The Swon Brothers and 16-year-old phenom Danielle Bradbery.

Chamuel, 26, is a former member of the band Ella Riot under the artistic trade name "The Reverb Junkie."  Her studio version of the Taylor Swift song 'I Knew You Were Trouble', released on June 3, 2013, peaked at #4 on the iTunes Chart, cinching her advancement to the final round of competition.

Her best performance of the evening, in our humble opinion, was a duet rendition of U2's 'One' with Usher.

Check out the video below and let us know who you think will win the recording contract and bragging rights during the finale tonight:

the voice top 3 head to finals

Two artists on 'The Voice' were eliminated Tuesday night, leaving only three acts to face off next week in the final round of competition.

Adam Levine's Amber Carrington and Shakira's Sasha Allen reached the end of the line during the semi-final round.  They both hit Twitter to express their appreciation to fans.

Amber tweeted, "I touched so many hearts through out my time on The Voice!  My life has forever changed.  I LOVE you guys!"  Sasha posted, "What a ride... Thank you for your LOVE and support!!"

Left to vie for the coveted recording contract are Usher's Michelle Chamuel, and Blake's Danielle Bradbery and The Swon Brothers.

Shelton's Season 2 and Season 3 proteges Jermaine Paul and Cassadee Pope were victorious, as was Season 1 winner Javier Colon - mentored by Adam Levine.

Odds seem to favor coach Blake Shelton to beat the rest of the coaching pack again this season -- but unless we're mistaken, it will be Usher's artist who ends up winning Season 4.

Next week's Live Results show will feature Cher, Florida George Line ft. Nelly, Pitbull ft. Christina Aguilera and Bruno Mars.

oklahoma natives to perform

Blake Shelton is just one of the high profile headliners who will participate Wednesday during NBC's 'Healing in the Heartland' benefit.

The live telethon event, taking place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, will air May 29, at 9 p.m. EDT, as well as cable networks Style, G4, Bravo, E! and CMT.

Joining the Oklahoma native and coach of 'The Voice' will be country entertainers Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Vince Gill.

Funds raised will be earmarked for the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund.

Shelton said, "Everyone has their way to help, and mine as an entertainer is to perform to help raise money and awareness for this tragedy.  This is why I want to do this special and especially hold it in Oklahoma City, which is near ground zero."

Fellow Oklahoman Carrie Underwood donated $1 million to the American Red Cross.

The benefit will aid those affected by the powerful EF5 tornado, with 200 mph winds, that destroyed Moore, Oklahoma on May 20, killing 24 people, including 10 children in an elementary school.

carrie underwood will donate blown away tour proceeds

Oklahoma native Carrie Underwood is putting her money where her heart is with a $1 million donation to the American Red Cross.  The funds have been earmarked for disaster relief efforts in her tornado ravaged state.

According to her rep, Underwood's charitable contribution will come from proceeds earned during her year long 'Blown Away Tour,' that wrapped this week.

The former 'American Idol' winner issued this statement, "I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness.  With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornado."

Red Cross executive officer Neal Litvack acknowledged the generous donation:  "The impact of the tornados in Oklahoma and the Midwest was devastating and the road to recovery will be long for many families.  Through the generosity of Carrie, the American Red Cross can quickly respond with shelter, food and comfort now, and with lasting help as they move toward recovery."

NBC will host a benefit concert next week that has been spearheaded by Oklahoma native Blake Shelton.

miranda and blake perform tribute duet

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a heart-felt rendition of her hit song 'Over You' last night on 'The Voice' as a tribute to the residents of Moore, Oklahoma.

Throughout the poignant performance, NBC displayed a banner at the bottom of the screen that read: "To help disaster victims, please donate at redcross.org or call 1-800-HELP NOW."

The Oklahoma native and his wife opened Tuesday's results show with the touching duet.  Afterward Shelton said, "I think 'Over You' was the perfect song for this situation.  The moment was right.  I wish things could have been different.  I wouldn't have thought about performing a song like that, but it seemed like the right thing to do."

Blake announced that he is already working with NBC on a concert to aid tornado victims, "Hopefully, it will be something big and will raise a lot of money, and obviously it will be televised.  It will happen really quickly and, hopefully, I can call in some really big favors."  As he said the last, he was pointing at his fellow coach, Usher.

2013 acm award winners

Miranda Lambert won three categories last night in Las Vegas at the 48th Academy of Country Music Awards, including the coveted Female Vocalist title.

The popular coach on 'The Voice' came up empty in the high-profile categories this year.  Winning Male Vocalist was Jason Aldean and Entertainer of the Year honors went to Luke Bryan.

Bryan was overcome with emotion when he stepped up to the microphone to accept the biggest award of the evening.  He managed to say, "I swear to God, every time I step on stage, it is a blessing for me to play for fans.  This is the defining moment in my life and it means the world to me and I will never take it for granted."

Other winners included Thompson Square - Vocal Duo, Little Big Town - Vocal Group, Album - 'Chief' Eric Church, New Artist - Florida Georgia Line.

the voice winner cassadee pope with blake shelton

The two-hour season three finale of 'The Voice' Tuesday night ended in victory for Florida pop-rocker Cassadee Pope.

The former front woman for the band Hey Monday signed on with Team Blake to see if she could make it as a solo performer and discovered that she definitely has what it takes.

Pope tweeted, "Holy moly cannoli!!! I won!!!!! Thank you all SO much.  I'm absolutely in awe and so thankful for this incredible experience."  She added, "And of course, @blakeshelton You've taught me that I can stand on my own and be accepted.  You're the best."

Country singer Blake Shelton ended up with two people vying for the recording contract and cash prize.  His other protege, Scottish rocker Terry McDermott, was runner-up.

Third place honors went to Team Cee Lo's protege, Minnesota native and dark horse Nicholas David.

There were no losers.  The three finalists were each presented with keys to a 2013 Kia Sorento.  In the words of Oprah .... "you get a car, you get a car, you get a car."

levine rocks with team blake

One of the highlights last night on 'The Voice' was an Aerosmith-inspired rendition of 'Dude Looks Like a Lady' performed by finalist Terry McDermott and his coach Blake Shelton.

The duet was made even better by the surprise appearance of bare-chested guitarist Adam Levine, who was sporting a long wig and bandana.

A poignant moment at the beginning the Monday's final round of competition featured the coaches singing 'Hallelujah' to honor the Sandy Hook fallen.

Tonight one of the remaining three finalists will be crowned this season's winner on the hit NBC show 'The Voice,' airing at 9/8c.
