Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist, Bob Welch, 66, has died. The musician was found dead yesterday in his Nashville home of an apparent suicide.

It was believed that the entertainer had been suffering from health problems recently. His wife, Wendy Armistead Welch, discovered her husband dead from a self inflicted gun shot to the chest. He reportedly left a suicide note.

Bob’s stint with Fleetwood Mac spanned 1971-1974. Welch went on to a successful solo career in the 70’s with hits ‘Hot Love, Cold World,’ ‘Precious Love,’ ‘Ebony Eyes’ and ‘Sentimental Lady.’

When Fleetwood Mac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, original band members Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kinwan, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie were named to the hall, along with Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.

He later said of the snub, “They want to write me out of the history of the group. It hurts.”
