dwts eliminated brant and peta

Cher was in the house last night when ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' celebrated her hits with routines that harkened back to her heyday.

As a guest judge, the 'I Got You Babe' songstress was more than kind -- appreciating the hard work that each couple put into their Cher-themed routines.

When former 'DWTS' pro Julianne Hough sat in for Len Goodman earlier this season, she gave the same scores as Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.  Cher was her own woman when it came to casting her votes -- often awarding pairs a higher score than the pro judges seated on either side of her on the panel.

Falling prey to this week's dreaded elimination were Brant Daugherty and his pro partner Peta Murgatroyd.

The 'Pretty Little Liars' actor said through tears, "I've learned something I never thought I'd be able to learn in my life.  I learned a lot about myself."  His partner added, "He's just an amazing guy --- thank you so much for everything."

Brant and Peta hit the talk show circuit this morning and posed for a photo that he captioned on Instagram, "Just hung up my dancing shoes on Good Morning America with @petamurgatroyd and we're not happy about it."

Still hanging tight despite registering the lowest scores consistently through the first eight weeks of competition is comedian Bill Engvall -- proof that a strong voter base trumps a lack of dance skills.

Cher is currently promoting her 26th solo album 'Closer to the Truth,' an amazing feat at the age of 67.

She chatted it up with PEOPLE during an event at Tao Downtown, just part of a whirlwind week in New York City that included a guest spot on Late Night with David Letterman.

She joked, "I kill myself!  I think I'm some freak of nature.  I'm starting to believe it myself."

The singer will embark on a 49-city Dressed to Kill tour from March 22 to July 11, 2014.  She admits that the grind of launching an album and pulling a tour act together is a really big deal.

Cher quipped, "I have been up since four f––g thirty in the morning!  I mean a girl has to get up later than that!"

The 'Goddess of Pop' became prominent in 1965 as one-half of the husband-wife act Sonny & Cher.  From there she established herself as a solo act with 'Bang Bang,' 'Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves and 'Half Breed.'

No one-trick-pony, Cher won a Best Actress Academy Award for the 1988 film 'Moonstruck.'

Check out the veteran diva's grand entrance on Letterman in the video below:

cher ashamed miley brilliant

Cher spouted off about Miley Cyrus earlier this week and has now decided that she should have kept her "big opinionated mouth shut" about the now infamous VMA performance.

The 67-year-old diva chatted it up with USA Today a few days ago and had this to say about Miley's twerk-a-thon with Robin Thicke:

"I'm not old-fashioned.  She could have come out naked, and if she'd just rocked the house, I would have said, 'You go, girl'  It just wasn't done well.  She can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out.  And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated."

It didn't take long for the 'Turn Back Time' singer to begin suffering from a bad case of remorse.   Cher turned to social media with a series of angst-filled tweets.

The icon said, "I think what I think, but having said that ... I'm a little ashamed ... which is total bulls**t ... how can you be a little ashamed?"

"WTF is my problem? I'm too old to fall prey to the question of 'What do you think of M.C.?'  What I should have said was, 'I didn't like it that much, but she's pushing the envelope, being an ARTIST!  She's talented and didn't commit a felony."

"But somehow my ego had to get its two cents in.  I didn't support a fellow artist.  Truthfully she was F*ing brilliant because we're still talking about it."

She ended with this pronouncement, "This is NOT an apology for what I thought, it's a reminder that if I don't practice my principles, I lose them."

Gotta love Cher for her brutal honesty...

cher tune ft gaga leaked

Cher threw a profanity-laced Twitter fit after learning that her never-to-be-heard duet with Lady Gaga has been leaked on the Internet.

'The Greatest Thing' was written last year by Lady Gaga and producer Nadir Khayat, professionally known as RedOne.  They offered it to Cher, who recorded it and seriously loved the track.

At the urging of RedOne, Gaga added vocals while on tour in Madrid.  Sadly for Cher, the collaboration wasn't up to Lady G's standards and she nixed the 67-year-old icon's plan to put it on her album 'Closer To the Truth,' set to drop on Sept. 24.

Cher told fans in June, "It's done and she doesn't like it, or want it to come out.  She's an artist, it's up to her.  I'm disappointed 2."

Now it has surfaced on the day after Gaga's single 'Applause' also leaked.  Coincidence -- maybe yes, maybe no.

That said, several hours ago Cher blew a gasket with a series of tweets:

The question remains ... is she secretly pleased that her song will now be heard by her fans?  Count on it.

Check out the tune and let us know what you think.  We're with Cher -- we like it!

ellen channels cher were thinking photoshopped

Cher and her mother and sister appeared as guests yesterday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for a discussion that covered the coming out and weight loss of her son Chaz Bono.

The 'Turn Back Time' singer told host Ellen Degeneres that Chaz is "working really hard" to reach his weight loss goal.

When the subject of his coming out was broached, the veteran entertainer admitted that Bono told his grandmother Georgia Holt before he enlightened his mother.

She joked, "I was the last to know.  It's true, go figure.  That's a big deal to come out to the grandmother!"

Ellen posted a teaser photo on Instagram showing her rocking an iconic Bob Mackie black leather and lace see-through costume that was made famous by Cher back in the day.  Photoshopped? Absolutely!

DeGeneres captioned the photo: "I had to change my outfit before the show.  Cher and I were wearing the same thing."

Holt, 86, and Cher's half-sister Georganne LaPiere, 61, chatted it up with Ellen about family matters.  Their show host shared this Instagram image featuring the mother-daughter trio in their western garb:

chaz bono weight loss

Chaz Bono has dropped 60 pounds and he is thrilled! The former 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant has changed the way he eats and it has paid off.

Bono told PEOPLE magazine that he is "still slowly losing weight."  Chaz explained, "I've just changed the way I eat. Diets don't work. You just have to change what you eat, and I have."

The 44-year-old son of Cher and the late Sunny Bono has gone through a big transformation over the last several years.  The former Chastity Bono underwent a female to male gender transition that was documented in the 2011 television film 'Becoming Chaz.'

Chaz appeared on 'The Doctors' in November to discuss his weight loss struggles that began in his 20's.  At 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighting 250 pounds, the show experts suggested that he lose 50-80 pounds.

He recently tweeted, "What's worked for me is, no sugar, no grains, no dairy except goat cheese, no white starches, portion control, and high intensity workouts."

A tabloid website recently suggested that he and his mother are feuding.  In response he posted this photo with Cher and tweeted,  "I just found out, online, that my mom and I aren't speaking. Can you tell me when Radar Online became a credible, quotable news source."

The house is within walking distance to shops, bars and art galleries on Venice's Main Street and Abbot Kinney Boulevard.

cher new tv show

Cher has signed a deal with Logo cable channel for a new television show.

The channel's senior vice president, Brent Zacky, confirmed that the iconic singer, actress, writer and producer is collaborating with comedian Ron Zimmerman for a pilot script set in early 1960s Hollywood.

Zimmerman, whose most recent TV writing credits include Shake It Up! and 'Til Death, has been romantically linked to Cher in recent years.

"We read some of the stuff that Cher and Ron had written and it was really terrific," Zacky told The Hollywood Reporter, noting it was yet to be decided if Cher would have an on-camera role in the project, which is in development. "We came up with an idea set in Hollywood in the early '60s, and we're very excited to see how we get through the process. The deal is brand-new and we're just getting started on the project."

The Logo channel is aimed at the LGBT community.

cher joins macys boycott over trump politics

A grass roots effort by SignOn.org is urging people to sign an online petition to encourage Macy's to sever ties with real estate mogul Donald Trump because of his personal attacks on President Barack Obama, NBC newscaster Brian Williams and for his ongoing penchant for slinging "sexist" comments.

The website petition statement reads: "Macy's: Donald Trump does not reflect the "magic of Macy's."  We urge you to sever ties with him.  Macy's says it has a strong obligation to be "socially responsible" and that "actions speak louder than words."  Indeed, it's time to act."

Thus far the petition has been signed by nearly 500,000 supporters who have opted to join the 'Urge Macy's To Dump Donald Trump' campaign.

One decidedly vocal supporter is Cher, who fired off a Twitter rant to vent her displeasure:

With news of the petition gaining momentum, Trump hit Twitter but not to lash out.  He simply tweeted, "My fragrance--"Success"-- is flying off the shelves @Macys.  The perfect Christmas gift!"

Monday he asked this Twitter question: "How come every time I show anger, disgust or impatience, enemies say I had a tantrum or meltdown--stupid or dishonest people?"

His spokesman Michael Cohen had this to say: "Mr. Trump is important to Macy's, both as a brand and as an endorser.  His ties, shirts, cufflinks, fragrances and other merchandise are top-selling items across the country.  The country has been founded on the principles of freedom of speech -- something Mr. Trump is entitled to as well as the creator of this petition."

Macy's released a new 60-second commercial featuring The Donald harassing Kris Kringle.  Check it out below:

We've provided a petition link -- should you want to add your name.  If not, carry on and have a great day.
