Kelly Clarkson blasts Clive Davis memoir

Clive Davis hit the talk show circuit Tuesday to promote his new memoir ‘The Soundtrack of My Life.’  He dropped a bisexual bombshell on Katie Couric but what got Kelly Clarkson all fired up were the “lies” he wrote about their relationship.

The former ‘Idol’ winner immediately prepared a blog response to set the record straight about the misguided recollections of the 80-year-old music mogul.

A pop rock artist with crossover success in country music, Clarkson wrote, “So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music.  I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans.  It feels like a violation.  Growing up is awesome because you learn you don’t have to cower to anyone — even Clive Davis.”

She went on to point out inaccuracies and omissions that appear in the Davis life story.  She described her lowest point during their association.  “He stood up in front of his company at a convention and belittled me and my music and completely sabotaged ‘My December’ ….  it never had a chance to reach its full potential.  It was an album I needed to make for myself for many reasons and the fact that I was so completely disregarded and disrespected was so disheartening, there really aren’t words to explain…”

Kelly ended by saying, “Anyway, I love my job.  I love my music.  I love my fans.  I love my label and all of my professional relationships… now.  And I am grateful to Clive for teaching me to know the difference.”

Clive Davis Comes Out to Katie Couric

Music industry executive Clive Davis revealed during an interview with Katie Couric that after a failed marriage in the 80′s he discovered that he was bisexual.

Why would an 80-year-old business mogul speak out now?  The music veteran has a book that is set to launch today.  ‘The Soundtrack of My Life,’ released by Simon & Schuster will cover his five decades in the business with shared snippets of a decidedly personal nature.

Davis revealed that after the breakup of his marriage, “I opened myself up to the possibility that I could have a relationship with a man as well as the two that I had with a woman.  I’m also attracted to women.  You don’t have to be only one thing or another.  For me, it’s the person.”

The father of four told Couric that he is currently “in a monogamous relationship.”

You can catch the entire interview Tuesday, Feb 19, on the ABC syndicated talk show ‘Katie.’
