There has been much speculation of where Michael Jackson‘s three children, Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II will end up residing. Currently they are staying with Jackson’s parents Joe and Katherine Jackson.

Joe and Katherine’s lawyer Debra Opri opened up to Eonline.com about the status of the legal rights of the children and Debbie Rowe‘s rights. Debbie is the ex-wife of Michael and the mother of the two eldest children. Opri is certain that Debbie has absolutely no rights to the children.

“We are almost certain that there is a written instrument which exists where Debbie Rowe ultimately surrendered fully and finally her parental rights.”

Rowe’s attorney Iris Finsilver insists that Debbie will try to gain full custody of her children, which may be tough if what Opri says is indeed true. Jackson’s lawyer believes that because Michael put his children first in his life and had everything in order in the event of his passing, there is likely a document stating that Katherine be the “custodial non-parent” in the event of his death. Said Opri, “When it came to Michael’s children, he had everything covered. They will be well provided for.”

Also stepping forward is the children’s godfather, British actor Mark Lester, who has indicated that he too will indeed be there for the children. Lester said, “They are the most fabulous kids and I will do anything…I’m here for them 24/7, so whatever they need, they’ve got from me.” He recently shared specific information about Blanket Jackson.

Other source indicate that the children’s former nanny Grace Rwaramba, 42, has been called back to Los Angeles by Jackson’s mother Katherine to assist with the care of the children. Some speculate that Jackson may have named her as a possible guardian of the children in the event of his death. She was recently fired after working for the pop star for over 20 years, reportedly because she attempted to stage a drug intervention with Jackson family members.

News of the World published a story yesterday that was reportedly an interview with Debbie Rowe. In it she said that Jackson was not the father of Prince Michael or Paris, and that she was artificially inseminated with donor sperm in both cases. She went on to say that she didn’t want the children and would not seek custody. That story, which was picked up by Huffington Post and others, has now been removed from the website….which would seem to indicate that a lawyer has asked them to do so.

Monday morning, Rowe’s lawyer reported on The Today Show that the above mentioned interview with his client was a total fabrication.

Michael’s youngest child Prince Michael II was born to an unnamed European surrogate mother, making his situation easier for the Jackson family, it would seem.

UPDATE: Debbie Rowe filed a lawsuit on Friday against Rebecca White for false statements made to Extra TV.
