girls got guns in new godaddy ad

A new GoDaddy ad featuring racer Danica Patrick will air during the 2014 Super Bowl.   Suffice it to say, we'll be seeing her in a whole new light.

The NASCAR driver was asked to don a full body muscle suit for her thirteenth Super Bowl ad.  Her latest commercial also features a veritable army of body builders of the male persuasion.

When Danica first saw the muscle body suit that she was being asked to wear, she responded, "Holy crap!"

Patrick and her man posse take to the streets in mass on their way to a spray tanning salon.  As they press their flesh against the shop window, attractive shop owner Selena picks up her sprayer, a sure sign she is ready for the onslaught of new business.  She whispers, "It's Go Time."

Previous Super Bowl ads have shown Danica in a more sexual light but this year the brand has decided to go in a totally different direction.  GoDaddy's new CEO, Blake Irving acknowledges that previous ads were "provocative, sexy, crazy, gutsy."

They have decided this year to showcase the 'little guy' looking to compete with the 'big guys.'  In the new ad we see small business owner Selena welcoming the opportunity to work with her new clientele.

The Web-hosting company has purchased two 30-second slots that will allow them to showcase their new theme in each half of Super Bowl XLVIII on Fox.

Irving stated emphatically, "We've matured.  We've evolved.  Our new brand of Super Bowl commercials will make it crystal clear what we do and who we stand for.  We may be changing our approach, but as we've always said, we don't care what the critics think.  We are all about our customers."

danica goes country with trace adkins

NASCAR racer Danica Patrick will co-host the 4th Annual American Country Awards with country veteran Trace Adkins.

Adkins joked, "I can't wait to see if I have what it takes to keep up with this racing superstar."

The Go Daddy driver responded, "I have no doubt he'll be able to keep up with me.  I've become a huge fan of country music since I came to NASCAR.  This is going to be a really cool experience and I'm excited to be a part of it.  It's going to be a great show!"

The 31-year-old drives #10 for Stewart-Haas Racing and in 2013 became the first female NASCAR driver to win a Sprint Cup Series pole, turning in the fastest qualifying lap since 1990 leading up to the Daytona 500.  In addition, she has been featured in a number of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues and films commercials for her sponsor Go

danica patrick nascar

Danica Patrick and her boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were involved in a three-way wreck Sunday during the Sprint Cup Series Coca-Cola 600.

During lap 319, Stenhouse drove his car into the side of Danica - causing her to collide with Brad Keselowski's ride, taking both of their vehicles out of the race.

Ricky, 25, driving #17 Best Buy for Roush Fenway Racing, was able to continue and finished the race in 14th place.

Keselowski initially thought he had caused the crash and told reporters, “I was three wide with Danica and didn’t know it and I cut her off and wrecked her and myself. I feel bad for her and I send my apologies to her."

After watching the video it was evident that it was the #17 car that bumped Danica as they headed around Turn 3.

Kevin Harvick ended up winning the 600-mile, 400-lap race when he pulled away from the field on a restart with 11 laps left.   The rest of the Top 5 finishers were Kasey Kahne, Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano.

Danica Patrick announced on Facebook in November 2012 that she was divorcing her husband of seven years, Paul Hospenthal.  She and fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. went public with their relationship in January 2013.

Sunday's track mishap hasn't caused a rift between the pair.  Ricky tweeted on Memorial Day, "Great day on the lake with @DanicaPatrick and friends.  Now time for some grillin out. #blessed"

franco disses dp

Did James Franco intentionally diss the 2013 Daytona 500 pole starter Danica Patrick when he stepped up to the microphone and called the start of Sunday's race?

The start command used to be, "Gentlemen, start your engines."  In deference to the prominent presence of the Go Daddy racer, it has since been changed to simply, "Drivers, start your engines."

The track announcer provided this intro, "And now for the most famous words in motorsports, please welcome your grand marshal. From the upcoming film, Disney's 'Oz, the Great and Powerful,' James Franco."

The actor bellowed, "Drivers and Danica, Start Your Engines."

During a pre-race press conference Franco hinted that he'd given the matter a great deal of thought, "Danica has done something special here, so I might have to switch it up."

Twitter erupted immediately with some interesting commentary.  One woman asked, "Wow James.  How's that foot taste in your mouth?"  A guy named Zeb tweeted, "Ok, the grand marshal is dumb.  This his first race? #Daytona 500"

The snafu comes two years after James Franco bombed while co-hosting the Oscars with Anne Hathaway, later admitting that he was having an off night.  Critics suggested he "phoned in" his lackluster 2011 Academy Award hosting performance

Check it a clip from the start of today's Daytona below and let us know what you think.  Was James Franco out of line with his not-so-subtle insinuation that the men in the group are the real drivers?

danica patrick wins daytona 500 pole

Danica Patrick became the first woman to win pole position at the Daytona 500, a feat she pulled off in qualifying Sunday, Feb. 17.

She beat out Jeff Gordon with a speed of 196.434 mph.  The three-time Daytona 500 champion talked a little smack while acknowledging the achievement of the Go Daddy racer, "Congratulations to Danica.  I can say I was part of history.  I can say I was the fastest guy today."

Danica said, "I think when pressure's on and when the spotlight's on, it ends up becoming some of my better moments and my better races and better results.  I don't know why that is.  I'm grateful for it.  Thanks mom and dad for the genetics."

The 2013 Daytona 500 kicks off on Feb. 24 at Daytona International Speedway, the 55th running of the high profile event.

Racing's most successful woman appeared last summer in a Miranda Lambert music video for her single 'Fastest Girl in Town.'

In the video the pair scheme to steal a car and guess who ends up in the driver's seat?

'Fastest Girl In Town' .... indeed!  Check it out below:

bar refaeli go daddy

Go Daddy has created yet another sexy Super Bowl ad, this one featuring gorgeous Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli.

In a 30-second ad spot dubbed 'Smart Meets Sexy,  NASCAR racer and Go Daddy spokeswoman Danica Patrick sets the stage by describing the website with the help of Bar, representing the sexy part of the business equation and her nerdy co-star Jesse Heiman as the smart side.

She declares, "Together, they're perfect."  On cue they make out as he flushes to the nth degree.

Heiman claims it took 45 takes to get that 5 second kiss just right.  We've also learned that CBS rejected two steamier versions as inappropriate for the masses.  When they finally got it right Jesse said he felt like he won "the championship of men."

Check it out and let us know if you think this Go Daddy ad will score points with Super Bowl viewers:

danica patrick dating ricky stenhouse jr

Danica Patrick has found new love with two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

It didn't take long for Patrick to seek out male comfort after announcing her split with husband Paul Hospenthal in November 2012.

Patrick, 30, and Stenhouse, 25, have a great deal in common including their status as 2013 candidates for NASCAR Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year.

She told the AP last Friday, "I have a boyfriend, his name is Richard.  We are dating, and I know there's been a bit of a runaround this week at the media days and poor Ricky got grilled with questions.  It was out of respect for NASCAR to just allow the news of the day to be about racing and not let anything interfere with that."

Stenhouse confirmed the relationship, "Yes we are dating.  I don't normally say too much about my private life, always been focused on the track."

Danica acknowledged, "As opposed to speculation and people make up their own stories or talking amongst themselves or us feeling uncomfortable walking into each other's motorhomes, it's just easier to be up front and get it out of the way then to have any kind of awkward speculation."

She'll race this year full-time in the #10 Chevy for Stewart-Haas Racing.  He'll be driving the #17 Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing.

Will the relationship affect their track performance?  Patrick claims, "It won't affect how I race.  I want to go out and win.  I race everyone hard."  Stay tuned race fans.

danica patrick and paul hospenthal

After seven years of marriage, NASCAR racer Danica Patrick and husband Paul Hospenthal are getting a divorce.

Danica announced the news yesterday on her Facebook page:

"I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage. This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this.  He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward."

She met her physical therapist husband, 17 years her senior, when she needed treatment for a hip injury that she suffered while doing yoga.

Danica, 30, got engaged on Thanksgiving in 2004 and wed Hospenthal in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2005.

The racer received the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series most popular driver award Monday night, which is voted on by fans.

Go Daddy recently announced that DP will appear in their 2013 Super Bowl commercials.

danica crashes at daytona 2012 gatorade duel

Danica Patrick survived a wild ride at the end of the Daytona 500 Gatorade Duel 2012 qualifying race on Thursday.

Patrick was running at the back of the pack during the white-flag lap.  Jamie McMurray came down the track on the backstretch and made contact with Aric Almirola, when then ran into Patrick.  The bump sent her straight into the inside retaining wall at full speed.

The Go Daddy racer tweeted, "Well....that was a bummer.  I am OK, icing my sore spots down, getting ready for the weekend!  Thanks for the concern."

You can catch all of the race action on Sunday, February 26 beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET on FOX.  Danica will start in the 29th position among a field of 43.  Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle claimed the top two spots by virtue of the top two times in last weekend's trials.

Cameras captured footage yesterday from inside Patrick's car, and showed her reacting well under pressure.  At 2:30 on the video slider Danica can be seen letting go of the wheel and pressing her hands to her helmet, a move that she learned early on to prevent hand and shoulder injuries.

She said afterward, "I don't know if I could have done anything different.  It was pretty fast and a sideways trajectory, so I kind of just braced myself."

Check it out after the jump:
