Joe Jonas threw Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato under the bus in a recent interview with New York magazine, claiming that they were the first ones to introduce him to marijuana years ago.

In the interview Joe said, "The first time I smoked weed was with Demi and Miley. I must have been 17 or 18. They kept saying, 'Try it! Try it!' So I gave it a shot, and it was alright. I don’t even smoke weed that often anymore."

Shortly after the interview was published Demi responded sweetly on her Twitter page, "Love you brother. #family/friendsforever."

Miley has now weighed in and it sounds like she is a bit confused by his comments. Cyrus told a reporter for the New York Times. "If you want to smoke weed, you're going to smoke weed. There's nothing that two little girls are going to get you to do that you don't want to do."

She added, "I thought maybe he was saying that like it was going to make him look badass. We were so young that it's actually like, 'How did you get peer pressured by me?'"

Jonas didn't place any blame regarding his early use of alcohol, "I was caught drinking when I was 16 or 17, and I thought the world was going to collapse. But I was in another country, and it was legal there. My 21st birthday, I fell down a flight of stairs. I was unconscious that time, and my whole team was scared to death that somebody was going to get a picture. Now I appreciate wine or a vodka-soda at the end of the day every once in a while."

demi lovato quitting x factor

Demi Lovato has decided after two season to walk away from 'The X Factor' in order to spend 2014 focusing on her music.

The 'Made in the USA' singer confirmed the report during Wednesday's 'X Factor,' "I started this show being a singer and a musician, and it's time that I go back to that.  I'm so excited for 2014 because I'm going to dedicate it completely and totally to music."

Not long ago she voiced her desire to return to her roots.  She acknowledged, "I think ultimately my main thing is singing.  Maybe movies once in a while, if the right role comes along."

The 21-year-old will kick off her first arena tour in Vancouver on February 9 with Cher Lloyd, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony.  In addition, she has a tell-all book in the works.

Her first order of business will be a stint at R & R, "I will take the month of January completely off!  I want to vacation!  I want to watch crime shows on my DVR on my couch ... I need to do some exercising and I don't really have time to do it.  I love horseback riding and never get to do that stuff, but January is my time to do all of that."

Simon Cowell is already negotiating a replacement, "There is somebody in mind who we've wanted for a while for this show that has suddenly become available.  He's larger than life and would be spectacular."    Justin Timberlake, perhaps?

X Factor judge Demi Lovato's estranged father Patrick Lovato died suddenly over the weekend, causing the singer to abruptly cancel a planned photo shoot.

In 2009 the Disney star revealed that she had not seen her biological father in a few years, "I had to cut off all connection.  It was hurting me too much."

Her dad reached out to Radar Online on several occasions to expressed his sadness over the lost relationship with Demi.

Suffering from throat cancer and facing surgery last year, Patrick Lovato left this message on the entertainment website, “I want Demi to know that I would do anything in the world for my little girl, I just want to hear her voice, Demi, please call your daddy!”

Demi's older sister Dallas Lovato, 25, posted a message yesterday morning on Twitter:

Their mother Dianna De La Garza also hit Twitter to share a photo of her daughters during happier times with their dad:

On Father's Day, Demi tweeted a shout-out to her step-father Eddie De La Garza, "I hate calling @redraider30 my "step dad" because he has literally been the greatest dad a girl could ever hope for."

Demi's 11-year-old half sister, Madison De La Garza, is a child actress who had a co-starring role on 'Desperate Housewives,' playing the daughter of Eva Longoria's character.

Lovato's X Factor boss Simon Cowell also tweeted his condolences, “My thoughts are with you Demi. X”

the x factor

Simon Cowell will be the lone male judge on the third season of 'X Factor,' confirming yesterday that Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio will join veteran judge Demi Lovato this fall.

Simon announced, “It’s taken more than a decade, but I’m delighted to finally be on a panel with three girls (I think!). Paulina and Kelly both have great taste and massive experience in the music industry and together with Demi, this is going to be a fun panel. It just feels like the time to do something different.”

No stranger to the format, Kelly was a former judge on the UK version of the 'X Factor' series in 2011.

The Destiny's Child singer said, “I am very excited to be reuniting with Simon Cowell and THE X FACTOR family. It feels great to be able to take this journey here at home in the States!”

Rubio will bring a Latin influence this season, “I love THE X FACTOR! I can’t wait to find the next big music star here in America. I’m so thrilled to be part of the show as a judge. Simon, be careful what you wish for, let’s see if you are ready to handle me, empieza la fiesta, amigo!”

demi lovato returning to x factor

'X Factor' creator Simon Cowell and the FOX network have confirmed that Demi Lovato will return as a panel member for Season 3 of the singing competition.

Following a lackluster second season it seemed to be a perfect time for a talent shakeup.  L.A. Reid and Britney Spears were not offered contract extensions and it remains unclear if co-hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will be returning.

The on-air chemistry between the 'KUWTK' reality star and the 'Extra' host seemed shaky at best throughout their two-month stint.  The 'Saved By The Bell' celeb was clearly comfortable and definitely in his element but he didn't seem at all interested in bonding with his rookie counterpart.

A rivalry ensued between Cowell and Lovato last season but it was apparently all for show.  Simon acknowledged, "I couldn't be happier that Demi wants to come back this year.  She's a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year."

He went on to say, "Even though she can be really, really annoying -- I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists.  I'm especially pleased she's back, even during her world tour!"

Demi is slated to drop her fourth studio album in May 2013.  She released the first single 'Heart Attack' in February.  The electropop love song uses cardiac arrest as a metaphor for lovesickness.

demi lovato left conan and cut her hair

Demi Lovato hit Twitter last night to share her new 'do, a fringe of chunky bangs that replaces the side swirl look that she rocked on the 'Conan' show earlier this week.

The 'X Factor' celeb tweeted:

In an attempt to attract younger viewers, Simon Cowell signed the 20-year-old to appear each week alongside pop princess Britney Spears on season two of 'X Factor.' They are up against some stiff competition in a head-to-head battle against the popular NBC show 'The Voice.'

demi lovato joins x factor

Demi Lovato will join Britney Spears as a judge on "The X Factor" in the upcoming season.

The 19-year-old Disney star was joined by Spears as the announcement was made at the Fox network upfronts presentation at the Beacon Theatre in NYC just moments ago.

While Fox execs would not confirm earlier today whether or not Lovato and Spears would be in attendance at the Beacon Theatre, they stressed the need to make the series more "entertaining" and "exciting," something they believe a new jolt of talent at the judges' table can do.

"Well, we delivered," says Simon Cowell. "This year we are seriously going to kick butt."
