Jane Seymour has finally pulled the trigger on a legal separation from her husband James Keach six months after confirming their plan to divorce.

In legal documents filed last week with the L.A. County Superior Court, Seymour cited irreconcilable differences. The actress has requested joint legal and physical custody of their twin sons John and Christopher are 17. Jane has further requested that she not be ordered to pay any spousal support.

The couple announced their split in April 2013 and issued a joint statement, “Jane Seymour and James Keach confirm that they are separated and have been for several months. At this time they are negotiating the terms of their divorce. They will continue their relationship as devoted parents to their children, as business associates and partners, and in their joint dedication to preserving and furthering the charitable endeavors that they’ve worked on throughout their marriage.”

After the initial split was announced Seymour acknowledged on ‘The View,’ “Obviously, it’s really devastating. It did happen a while ago. It was sort of kept quiet.”

“We open our hearts to one another. We respect one another, We’ve been together 22 years, and we will be together the rest of our lives raising our children and doing things like the Open Hearts Foundation.”

Seymour was Keach’s third wife and he was her fourth husband.
