“The 40-Year-Old Virgin” actor Shelley Malil was convicted of attempted murder in the stabbing of his ex-girlfriend, Kendra Beebe.

Malil was found guilty of attempted premeditated murder and assault with a deadly weapon for stabbing the 37-year-old mother of two more than 20 times during an argument at her San Marcos home in 2008.

The 45-year-old actor was acquitted of residential burglary for entering Beebe’s home, where he found her having wine with another man on the patio, and stabbed her repeatedly with a kitchen knife.

Malil’s attorney said that while he went too far in stabbing Beebe, he never intended to kill her.

Deputy District Attorney Keith Watanabe argued that Malil brought the knife to the home and did not grab it in the heat of the moment.

Malil will be eligible for parole in 12 years, but with time served and good behavior, he could be free in nine years.

Beebe sustained deep wounds on her face, neck and torso.
