When we heard that Rosie O'Donnell would be returning to The View, we imagined there would be some tense words exchanged, but we thought the beef would be between O'Donnell and Nicolle Wallace.

According to reports from the set, however, O'Donnell has been mostly civil to the show's resident Republican, but she's also been locking horns with fellow comic Whoopi Goldberg.

Yes, Rosie and Whoopi apparently got into an ugly war of words in front of their studio audience this week.

The incident won't be televised, but many have the witnesses have come forward with alarming stories.

Apparently, the ladies were discussing the Adrian Peterson scandal and the notion of spanking kids for punishment.

Rosie went on a rant, during which Whoopi (who's taken Barbara Walters' place as the show's moderator) was forced to interrupt her so that the show could cut to commercial.

That's when Rosie flipped out on Whoopi:

"As soon as they went to commercial break, Rosie took the handheld microphone that they use to engage the audience," says one witness.

"Instead of talking to the audience, Rosie spoke directly to Whoopi in the mic and [said] she was 'very upset' and 'didn't appreciate' what Whoopi had done."

Whoopi was apparently and tried to smooth things over by telling Rosie that it's "not the time for this."

O'Donnell continued to rant and rave, leading Goldberg to fire back in epic fashion:

"F--k it, I told you to leave it alone and you don't want to listen," Whoopi reportedly shouted at Rosie. "If you want to go there Rosie, I will dammit. I'm really sick of your sh-t!"

And it's on! Is it just us, or are you also suddenly really looking forward to The View tomorrow?

Talk about transformation!  Actress and former talk show host Rosie O'Donnell shocked fans when she posted before and after photos revealing a 50 pound weight loss.

O'Donnell shared the surprising before and after photo on Twitter, commenting, "Almost 50 lbs off - I can see it now."

Rosie O'Donnell Weight Loss

Am I the only one wondering why she couldn't have chose a less fuzzy "before" picture?  Good grief.

No denying the former "The View" host looks better with a slimmed down face, styled hair and a bit of make up.  Hopefully the transformation is helping her feel better inside, as well.

O'Donnell recently revealed she underwent weight loss surgery, motivated by a heart attack in 2012.

We will all get to see the transformation in person very soon!!  O'Donnell will be joining "The View" for a reunion show honoring Barbara Walters.

rosie odonnell and michelle rounds daughter

Rosie O'Donnell and her wife Michelle Rounds have welcomed a new baby girl into their family.

The comedic entertainer shared a family photo and tweeted, "we r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota - #withloveandthanks - AMEN."

According to O'Donnell's rep, the adopted infant was born on Jan. 5 and weighed 5 pounds, 5 ounces.  "Moms and baby are happy and healthy."

Suffice it to say that 2012 was eventful for the couple.  They got married in NYC in June and both endured serious health issues that included a heart attack suffered by Rosie in August and a diagnosis of desmoid tumors for Michelle, a rare and life-threatening disease.

Rosie has four other adopted children - Blake, Vivienne, Parker and Chelsea - from a previous relationship with Kelli Carpenter.

rosie odonnell recovering from heart attack

Rosie O'Donnell suffered a heart attack last week and considers herself lucky to be alive.

The 50-year-old comic believes it is nothing short of a "miracle" that she survived what doctors characterize as a "widow maker" heart event.

Her coronary artery was 99 percent blocked, requiring the insertion of a stent to restore proper blood flow.

O'Donnell is now resting at home and is feeling well enough to blog about the frightening experience.

She said it all began on August 14 when she played Good Samaritan to "an enormous woman" who needed help getting out of her car in a Nyack, N.Y. parking lot.

Several hours later she experienced an ache in her chest, sore arms that felt bruised, nausea and clammy skin.  She remembered a popular TV ad and popped a Bayer aspirin but hesitated far longer than she should have before seeking medical attention.

RO is now stressing, "Know the symptoms ladies.  Listen to the voice inside, the one we all so easily ignore.  CALL 911 ... save yourself."

Her partner Michelle Rounds is also experiencing health issues.  Rosie recently revealed details of her fiancee's serious medical condition that caused them to postpone their wedding.

rosie postones wedding fiancee ill

Rosie O'Donnell revealed Friday on her blog that her fiancee Michelle Rounds has been diagnosed with a rare disease.

The couple announced in December that they were planning a summer wedding.  That has all changed following a medical mystery that began many months ago.

Rosie blogged, "Again and again, her pain grew worse.  It seemed impossible.  No one know what was wrong.  Life changed in an instant."

Doctors determined that Rounds has desmoid tumors, a rare disease that is not cancer but "acts cancerous" and only affects three out of every million people.

O'Donnell revealed, "She is recovering from surgery in June.  She's getting stronger every day.  We have joined the fight against this disease, raising money and awareness."

In fact, when the couple does tie the knot they have decided that in lieu of wedding gifts, they'll ask for donations to the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation.

rosie takes pot shots at lindsay lohan

Recently fired OWN talk show host Rosie O'Donnell stirred the pot during a TODAY appearance on Tuesday while chatting about hot topics with Star Jones and Donny Deutsch.

Rosie isn't thrilled about the prospect of Lindsay Lohan portraying Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming Lifetime movie.

She said, "The last thing she did good, she was 16.  I feel very sorry for her.  I think she needs a lot of help.  She needs a lot of time away.  On SNL it wasn't as though she delivered.  People watched expecting, hoping, wishing, but she needs a lot of help."

Star Jones believes the movie will be widely viewed for no other reason than to see a "train wreck."

O'Donnell continued, "I don't think she's right for the role, and I don't think she's capable at this point of doing what's needed to portray the character.  I think the interest level in her has waned significantly."

Donny Deutsch pointed out that Lohan has the potential to be the Elizabeth Taylor of this generation both on and off-screen.  Rosie huffed, "You're out of your mind."

Lohan's spokesman Steve Honig responded to the O'Donnell snit: "I think Rosie should be focused on her own career right now and not everyone else's.  It's a shame that she has to be so cruel towards another person in order to keep herself in the news."

We can't help but agree that this appears to be a clear cut case of the pot calling the kettle black...

the donald jumps on rosies case again

Leave it to Donald Trump to stick the knife in when the victim is already DOA.

After learning that The Rosie Show had been cancelled, the real estate mogul and reality show honcho tweeted a few nasty jabs at his arch-enemy Rosie O'Donnell.

Trumped hit Twitter this morning, "Rosie O'Donnell has failed again.  Her ratings were abysmal and Oprah cancelled her on Friday night.  When will media executives learn that Rosie just hasn't got it?"

The pair engaged in some widely reported hate-speak while she was still a co-host on The View.  After she made fun of his hair and referred to him as "a snake-oil salesman" who was no stranger to bankruptcy, he put on the gloves and called her a "loser" and a "pig."

Rosie has other detractors too.  According to TMZ, members of the Harpo Studio staff have let slip that Rosie O was a "bully" and after the delightful experience they enjoyed while producing Oprah's show, the recent five month stint has been an incredibly painful experience for all involved in producing and directing the failed OWN prime-time talk show.

oprah dumps rosie show

After less than six months on the air, Oprah Winfrey and her OWN network have cancelled The Rosie Show.

Rosie O'Donnell will wrap her daily talk show next week with the final episode set to air on March 30.

Oprah said, "I thank Rosie from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this journey.  As I have learned in the last 15 months, a new network launch is always a challenge and ratings grow over time as you continue to gather an audience.  I'm grateful to Rosie and the dedicated Rosie Show team for giving it their all."

The show tapes at Harpo Studios in Chicago, the same location where O did her long running daytime gig.

Rosie premiered in October and only managed to pull in a loyal audience of 230,000 viewers.  In hindsight, O probably let the show go far longer than was warranted.

Rosie O'Donnell and Michelle Rounds have enjoyed a whirlwind courtship after meeting at a Manhattan Starbucks in August 2011.  They are now officially engaged.

The OWN network talk show host shared a Twitter image of Rounds sporting a gorgeous sparkler hours after telling her Chicago-based Harpo Studio audience about her new status.  The revelation came during a commercial break while the Monday show was being taped.  The twitpic that followed was tagged, "so so so happy."

Talking about their chance meeting this past summer, Rosie joked during one of her standup routines in October that her "gaydar was way off" the day that she and Michelle struck up a conversation.  The comedian thought Rounds was 28 and heterosexual, and it turns out she was a gay woman and 40.

O'Donnell wed Kelli Carpenter in 2004 and co-parented three adopted children: Parker, Chelsea and Blake.  During their union a fourth child, Vivienne, was born to Kelli, who conceived via artificial insemination.  They split in 2007 though that information wasn't disclosed until the end of 2009.

Rosie then partnered with Tracy Kachtick-Anders, a Texas artist.  They never officially lived under one roof but were within close proximity until February 2011.  Tracy's large family of children became very close to the O'Donnell kids, making the break-up "very complicated" according to her rep, because the couple's offspring had forged a strong bond and continued to spend time together until Rosie headed off to Chicago.

Check out a close-up pic of the sparkler that Rosie just uploaded to her Twitter page:
