Talk about a complicated friendship!  US Weekly is reporting that Tiger Woods' girlfriend Lindsey Vonn and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren have become close friends.

Nordgren apparently reached out to the Olympian when it became obvious that she'd be spending a great deal of time with Nordegren and Wood's kids, daughter Sam (6) and Charlie (5).  After they met, Nordegren realized that she really liked Vonn and her strong personality.

Maybe she feels that a strong woman is just what Tiger needs.  He and Nordegren famously divorced in 2010 after it was revealed that he had cheated on her with DOZENS of women.

A source says that the group recently went on vacation together and the women would occasionally pair off to get drinks, leaving the golfer with the children.

Let's be real -- I'm sure there was a nanny around, too.

Vonn and Woods first went public with their relationship about a year ago after meeting at a charity event and becoming friends.  I wouldn't be surprised if they are engaged soon!

Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn is recovering from a surgical procedure to repair a torn ACL on her right knee.

The injury led the athlete to announce on Jan. 7 that she would not compete at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia: "I did everything I possibly could to somehow get strong enough to overcome having no ACL but the reality has sunk in that my knee is just too unstable to compete at this level."

Vonn provided an update yesterday on Facebook, "Surgery was successful! Resting with loved ones and of course my cuddle buddy Leo. So thankful to have such great people helping me. Will update more later." See pic here.

Publicist Lewis Kay said:  "Lindsey Vonn underwent successful ACL reconstruction surgery yesterday.  Dr. Jim Andrews performed the procedure and expects her to make a full recovery in time for next year's World Championships in Vail, Colorado."

Regarding Lindsey's 9-month-old puppy, she told her fans, "This brightened my day. He has a bad knee from being hit by a car when he was a puppy and no one wanted him … but I do!! I encourage anyone looking for an animal to adopt from a shelter! #bumkneebuddies"

When she is not traveling the ski circuit, Vonn resides in Jupiter, Floria with boyfriend Tiger Woods.

lindsey vonn suffers training injury

Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn crashed during a training run at Copper Mountain, Colorado on Tuesday and was taken to nearby Vail to see her orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Bill Sterrett -- the doctor who previously operated on her knee.

Vonn's publicist said, "We expect to have clarity on the situation in the next 24 hours."

Tiger Woods' girlfriend had major knee surgery following a skiing accident on February 5 for a torn ACL and MCL plus a fractured tibia.

Since resuming her training schedule, the athlete has indicated that the surgically repaired right knee is 100% and she has suffered no pain or swelling.

Regarding the new injury, U.S. Ski Team spokesman Tom Kelly reports, "We have not reason to believe it's anything significant right now."

Vonn has been busy training for her comeback race slated for Nov. 29 at the World Cup downhill at Beaver Creek, Colorado, but she is also focused on a much bigger event coming up in Russia.

The women's downhill at the Sochi Olympics is on Feb. 12, and Vonn indicates that has been her main focus since returning to the training slopes.

Already an Olympic gold medalist, Lindsey admits, "I feel like the pressure is off.  My childhood dream was to win the Olympics, and I've done that.  Everything else is icing on the cake."

She recently did a guest appearance with David Letterman and last weekend took in some NFL action on the sidelines of the Denver Broncos game with her boyfriend Tiger Woods.

lindsay tweets from british open

Olympic ski racer Lindsey Vonn put her training schedule in Austria on the back burner early this week so she could join her boyfriend Tiger Woods at the British Open.

She has turned out to have an eye for photography, tweeting several great looking images from Muirfield Golf Links in Guliane, East Lothian, Scotland.

Tiger is favored to win the 16th Open Championship, having hoisted the coveted trophy three time previously in 2000, 2005 and 2006.

He posted this photo on Twitter and Facebook under the banner of "Throwback Thursday!"

Vonn tweeted during a practice round on Monday, "Really eye opening experience today inside the ropes with my man.  Incredible course. @GoPro #britishopen #goTW"

Since GoPro makes high tech cameras, we'll hazard a guess that Lindsey was showing them some love for a freebie, perhaps?

The downhill racer posted a panoramic view of the course early this morning and tweeted, "Day 2 about to start!"

Regarding his 2013 British Open changes, Tiger blogged earlier this week, "This marks my second trip to Muirfield.  My first visit in 2002 didn't go very well.  I caught the worst of the weather and wound up tying for 28th.  That's just the nature of links golf.  Luck plays a big part in it, and you never know what you're going to get.  Murfield is one of the hardest courses in Scotland."

Tiger Woods and his girlfriend Lindsey Vonn took the PGA golfer's children to school this morning in Palm Beach.

Yesterday the Olympic skier was on her own for the quick trip to school with her boyfriend's offspring but this morning the #1 golfer in the world was part of the entourage that oversaw the safety of Sam Alexis, nearly 6, and her brother Charlie Axel, 4, as they arrived at their exclusive day school.

The children's mother, Elin Nordegren, is living in temporary digs nearby while contractors work on a 21,000 square foot mansion in an exclusive enclave of North Palm Beach.  The new construction, slated to be completed in 2014, will boast nine bedroom and eight bathrooms.

Her 53-year-old boyfriend, coal mining billionaire Chris Cline, has a residence two doors down from Elin's new beachfront pad but recently snapped up the beachfront property between their homes ... just because he could.

NBA legend Michael Jordan married Yvette Prieto Saturday in Palm Beach, Florida.

The 50-year-old owner of the Charlotte Bobcats exchanged wedding vows with his model fiancee at the Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church before making his way to the reception held in a massive 40,000 square foot tent at the Bears Club on the golf course founded by Jack Nicklaus in 1999.

The groom wore a black tuxedo and his bride wore a French silk voile corseted sheer sheath gown by J'Aton Couture, in an ecru palette with accents of flesh tones and enhanced with Swarovski crystals.

She was able to enter the church without being photographed thanks to a group of seven men who shielded her from view with large white umbrellas.

The bridesmaid numbered eight and were dressed in grey floor length gowns in various styles.

Michael's mother Deloris Peoples was among the 300 attendees.  Others included former New York Knicks Patrick Ewing, former Chicago Bulls Scottie Pippen and his wife, Spike Lee and Ahmad Rashad.

The after party was just a short walk away from Jordan's mega-estate in the exclusive gated community of Jupiter.  His neighbor Tiger Woods attended solo ... opting not to bring his girlfriend Lindsey Vonn to the high profile event - pic here.

Entertaining at the event were DJ MC Lyte, K'Jon, Robin Thicke, Usher, The Source and an 18-piece band.

Jordan divorced his first wife, Juanita Vanoy Jordan, in 2006.  Their three children Jeffrey, 24, Marcus, 22, and Jasmine, 19, attended the ceremony.

Michael's daughter tweeted, "It's been a long & beautiful day."

Jasmine wasted little time in leaving the Sunshine State behind.  She posted on Twitter, "Good morning.  Thank God for this glorious day.  Once again, I'm headed to the airport.  Back to Syracuse I go.  Ending my junior year this week."

After months of speculation, PGA golfer Tiger Woods and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn have officially confirmed via social media that they are a couple.

Vonn wrote on Facebook, "I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods.  Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy."

"I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends.  Thank you for understanding and your continued support! XO LV"

Tiger also used the Facebook forum to share photos and this message: "This season has been great so far and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral.  Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn.  Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating."

"We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy.  We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

Rumors spread like wildfire after Tiger sent his personal plane to transport Vonn back to the U.S. for surgery after she suffered a serious injury during a downhill practice run in Austria.  She tore two ligaments in her right knee and suffered a tibial fracture.

Woods and Vonn are both divorced.  He has two children with ex-wife Elin Nordegren.

tiger and obama play 18 holes at floridian in palm city

During a men's golf getaway weekend in Florida, Barack Obama hooked up with PGA icon Tiger Woods for 18 holes of golf at the Floridian in Palm City.

The commander-in-chief and Michelle Obama once again planned separate President's Day long weekends.  The First Lady headed for the Aspen ski slopes with daughters Sasha and Malia while POTUS headed for a much warmer climate for an eight hour golf lesson from Tiger's former swing coach Butch Harmon.

On Saturday the President hit balls in Harmon's studio and then played 27 holes as Butch critiqued his swing and provided golf tips.

Sunday the plan had been for Obama and Tiger to play 18 at The Medalist Golf Club, Woods' home course.  They opted instead for the Floridian Yacht & Golf Club and enjoyed a "media free" zone during their golf outing.

The weekend foursome members included a couple of men with strong Texas roots: Jim Crane, a Houston businessman who owns the Floridian and the Houston Astros, and U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk, a former mayor of Dallas.

Harmon tagged along both days and later related, "Just to see the interaction between the two on the range was pretty neat.  The President said to Tiger: 'The last tournament you played was fun to watch.  It's good to see you play well again.'  You could tell he meant it.  It just wasn't a throw it out compliment."

Butch hit Twitter to reflect on the past few days, "What a great weekend.  To spend it with the President and have my son Claude by my side.  It doesn't get any better than this."

Tiger Woods hit a fan during a practice round at Medinah Country Club near Chicago Thursday.  The wayward shot dropped the guy to the ground where he lay unconscious for a brief period.

The pro golfer ran into trouble on No. 18, sending his tee shot on a wild trajectory that made contact with the head of an onlooker who was watching the practice action from the gallery.

Seated on a first aid cart with grass still clinging to his jacket, the injured man insisted it wasn't Tiger's fault.  The pro was having none of it and apologized several more times before presenting him with a signed glove as the crowd looked on.

tiger wins after 30 month drought

The gray clouds have lifted and the monkey is finally off the back of Tiger Woods.  The controversial pro golfer won his first PGA Tour event on Sunday after a 30 month drought.

Tiger shot a -13 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, FL, earning him the win by five strokes.

Woods told a reporter, "It was just pure joy.  It felt good. This is our progression and we are heading in the right direction."

"I've gotten better and that's the main thing. If you look at my results ... I've been close for a number of tournaments now.  It was just a matter of staying the course and staying patient, keep working on fine tuning what we are doing and, well, here we are."

Tiger boasts 72 career wins on the tour.  He said, "I'm looking forward to my opportunities this year. There are four of them and hopefully I can peak at the right time for all four of them."

His last tour win was in 2009 at the BMW Championship in Chicago.  His last non-tour win came in December when he won his own charity tournament, the Chevron World Challenge.

Watch Tiger's reaction after taking the tournament below:
