Lady Gaga leads the Twitter pack with 20.2 million followers, a new record for the online social networking service.
The singer hit the milestone mark over the weekend and is still gaining momentum while leaving the rest of the field in her dust.
Justin Bieber is within striking range thanks to his 18.1 million loyal Twitter fans but he’ll need two million Tweens to jump on his bandwagon in order to beat Gaga.
Third spot at 15.7 million is Katy Perry. In a near dead heat in slots four and five are Shakira at 14.7 million and Rihanna with 14.5 million.
Ashton Kutcher and Britney Spears have each previously been at the top of the Twitter heap. The Two and a Half Men star is currently at 9.7 million and the pop princess has a respectable 13.6 million online pals.
