Valerie Harper delivered a gracious farewell last night after being eliminated at the end of week 4 on the ABC reality competition ‘Dancing with the Stars.’

She and her pro partner Tristan MacManus landed at the bottom of the heap two weeks in a row and this week her fan base failed to provide enough of a buffer to keep her on the show.

Though battling terminal cancer, the 74-year-old actress signed on to compete against a field of younger and healthier celebrities. She managed to keep her spirits high despite a significant knee injury.

She told host Tom Bergeron, “It has been absolutely wonderful, completely unique, like nothing else in the world. It’s really a great thing to get out and dance!”

A visibly upset MacManus said quietly, “I feel like I’ve been very lucky.”

Still remaining in the competition: Jack Osbourne, Elizabeth Berkley, Corbin Bleu, Brant Daugherty, Bill Engvall, Christina Milian, Nicole Polizzi, Leah Remini and Amber Riley.

Previously booted celebrities: Former NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson and Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy.’
