pat houston suicide scare

Whitney Houston's sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston gave her family a scare yesterday when they thought she had taken her own life.

The panic started because of a post that Pat placed on her personal Facebook page, "Sometimes you just feel like giving up on life and its many challenges. And for the first time in my life…I’m tired…and I want to finally rest. I love you guys."

Several family member saw this and immediately tried to contact her.  When the calls went unanswered they went to her home and found her lying unconscious next to a bottle of pills.

Fearing the worst, they called 911 for help.  Pat woke up when the police arrived and explained that this was all a misunderstanding.

Houston claims that she had taken pain pills for her back and turned her phone off to get some rest.  She was unaware that anyone was trying to reach her.

As for the Facebook post, Pat said that she is not suicidal and it was posted due to stress.

Police say that she was rushed from her Alpharetta, GA home to the hospital as a precautionary measure and was released a short time later.

Pat is married to Whitney's brother Gary Houston.

coming to a madame tussauds near you

In celebration of the life and legacy of the late Whitney Houston, Madame Tussauds New York unveiled four wax figures of the star in memorable moments during her career on Thursday, Feb. 7, in Manhattan.

Sissy Houston and her son and daughter-in-law Gary and Pat Houston were among invited guests on hand to witness the special exhibit.  Noticeably absent was Bobbi Kristina Brown.  Her aunt told reporters, "For Krissy this is a bit much, to see figures of her mother.  It's tough enough for her, and we didn't want to pressure her into making a decision to come."

The four likenesses will be permanently installed at Madame Tussauds attractions in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C.  It is the first time in the 200-year history of Madame Tussauds that four distinct likenesses were created and simultaneously launched representing different points in a subject's life.

The elegant gold sequined floor-length gown is a nod to one Houston wore in the the 'I Look to You' album photo shoot.  The 'Queen of the Night' costume references Whitney's 1992 film 'The Bodyguard.'  The white track suit with red, white and blue details harkens back to her brilliant rendition of the 'Star Spangled Banner' at Super Bowl XXV.  The figure dressed in the curly blonde wig and tank dress is a take on Houston's 1987 music video 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody.'

Houston died in a hotel bathtub hours before she was to attend the Grammy Awards on Feb. 11, 2012.  She was 48.

Sissy Houston's favorite waxwork figure is the one depicting the very beginning of her daughter's career.  Check out closeups below and let us know which you think best captures the true essence of Whitney:

michael houston on oprah

Bobby Brown has always been an easy target to blame for getting the late Whitney Houston hooked on drugs.  Now Whitney's brother Michael Houston is telling Oprah Winfrey he's really the one to blame.

In a shocking sit down interview that will air Sunday on 'Oprah's Next Chapter,' Michael and his mother Sissy Houston talked candidly about Whitney's drug use and tragic death.

Michael is feeling bogged down by guilt about his sister's death and believes he is to blame since he was the first person to introduce the entertainer to drugs.  He described his current state, "I'm living, but I'm not alive."

He told O, "You gotta understand at the time ... the 80s ... it was acceptable.  It's painful ... I feel responsible for what I let go so far."

Sissy and her son will appear on 'Oprah's Next Chapter' Sunday on OWN 9/8C.  Check out a portion of the interview below:

Pat and Cissy Houston have withdrawn their court challenge of Whitney Houston's will, and have agreed that the installment payments to sole beneficiary Bobbi Kristina Brown can be paid out as originally established.

Bobbi Kristina's grandmother and aunt are co-executors of Whitney's estate and were afraid that the amount of money that Bobbi was to inherit would be "too much, too soon."

The $20 million inheritance will be doled out in three lump sums: 10% when she turns 21 ($2 mil), 20% at age 25 ($4 mil) and the remainder when she turns 30 ($16 mil).

Now that grandma has agreed to dismiss her challenge, the first payment will be paid to Bobbi Kristina on March 4, 2014.

The family recently debuted their new Lifetime reality show The Houstons: On Our Own.  Los Angeles Times critic, Gerrick Kennedy, panned the premiere as "disturbingly intrusive" and "exploitive."

The family began filming fourteen half-hour episodes three months after Whitney died.  You can catch all of the week-two action on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Bobbi Kristina made her acting debut last night during the season premiere of 'For Better Or Worse' on the TBS network.

Taking a calculated risk, Tyler Perry signed the grieving 19-year-old to a one-year contract and cast her as the daughter of a hairstylist.

Clearly pleased with his young protege, Perry hit Twitter after the premiere to gush, "I told you this kid could act!  She's never been on camera like this before.  I think Whitney would be very proud of Krissi.  Isn't she doing a great job?"

Up next for the daughter of the late Whitney Houston ... her own reality show titled 'The Houston Family Chronicles.'

The Lifetime show will follow the lives of Bobbi Kristina as well as her grandmother Cissy Houston, uncle Gary Houston, aunt Pat Houston and cousin Rayah.

The network released a statement: “Whitney Houston’s sudden passing left behind a major void felt not only by the world, but also by those who loved her most, her beloved family. The Houston Family Chronicles follows those closest to the pop music icon as they try to pick up the pieces after her untimely death."

The network has ordered 10 episodes.  Among those slated to make special appearances: Dionne Warwick and CeCe Winans.

The newly-released "Celebrate" music video turned out to be a blended recording of Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks because the duo never got a chance to record the track together during the making of their upcoming film "Sparkle."

According to Sparks, "I would have loved to be in the studio with her, but with Whitney's schedule it got so crazy we never found the time to get together, so we recorded it separately."

Sparks has fond memories of Whitney: “She was so cool and very motherly toward me.  If I ever looked like I needed something, here she came saying ‘Are you okay?’”

The film, set to hit theaters on Aug. 17, also features Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo and Cee Lo Green.

The original motion picture soundtrack "Sparkle" will drop on July 31.
